CONDITIONAL SENTENCE TYPE 1

[greetings] Introduce my name is maheswara nabiha javas, absent sixteen, from

eleventh grade science 6. Here I will present material on Conditional Sentence to
improve my Conditional Sentence test scores.

A. FORM

Conditional Sentence is a sentence used to express something that may or may

not happen as expected. Conditional clauses are often called conditional sentences.
The conditional sentence consists of two parts, namely the main clause (main clause)
and the if clause (sub clause). The if clause contains the conditions that must be met
so that the conditions as contained in the main clause can be realized. Therefore,
conditional sentences are also called conditional sentences. Conditional sentences
generally have the following characteristics:
a) Digunakannya kata if dalam anak kalimat (sub clause). Karena clause ini
diawali oleh if maka disebut if clause.
b) Digunakannya modal auxiliary, seperti will, can, may, must, would, could,
might, etc. pada pokok kalimat (main clause).

Ada beberapa tipe Conditional Sentence, yaitu:

1. Type I     : Future Conditional
2. Type II    : Present Conditional
3.      Type III  : Past Conditional

1
Type I: Simple future (main clause) + Simple present (If clause)
The first conditional sentence is a form of conditional sentence that is used
when the result or consequence has the possibility to occur in the future. Therefore,
the sentence form of this first type of conditional sentence has the form of a simple
future sentence..

Example :
I Shall go to your party if your invite me.
Faet “
I Shall not to yout party because you don’t invite me.

Example :
I Can go to bali if I have money
Faet :
I cannot go to bali, because I don’t have money

Example :
I Will study English if I have free time
Faet :
I will not study English, because I don’t have free time.

Type II: Present Conditional ( Impossible)

The second conditional sentence is a type of conditional sentence that is used when the
result or consequence only has hope even though the probability is very small. So it can be
said that this second type of conditional sentence is not certain but can also come true. In this
sentence form, the formula used is

Example : If I were a ftog, I will swim in the ocean’

Faet : I am not a frog, so will not swim in the ocean

Example : If I were a President, I would give high salary to the teacher

Faet : I am not a President, so I will not give high salary to the teacher

2
Type III: Past Conditional ( Impossible)
hird conditional sentence is a conditional sentence when a condition is not
possible at all. This can be described as a very desirable condition or just a dream or
imagination. In this third type of conditional sentence, the form of the sentence uses
the past perfect which is equipped with auxiliary modals such as would, could, and
should. The formula used is…

Example : If I could have qotten reward, I had to celebrated it.

Faet : I could not have qotten reward, I had not to celebrated it.
