about
Valentino is one of the 14 most recognized fashion brands in Europe.
Valentino is unique because it has been around for over six decades. It
has international recognition from its first year of existence to date.
At the time Valentino was created, it focused more on ready-to-wear
garments, but the Valentino brand had welcomed many other
products over the years.
However, all Valentino’s products are fashion-related. Valentino Garavani’s company is called
Valentino SpA and is also known as Maison Valentino. It is among the strongest names in the
fashion industry today.
Valentino Garavani and Giancarlo Giammetti co-owned Valentino initially until 1998 when
they sold the company for $300 million. Although Valentino Garavani was still the creative
director till 2007, there were changes in the company’s ownership three times from 1998
until 2012. The present-day owner of the company is Qatar which acquired her through
Mayhoola for Investments Spc.
iconic
products
Valentino opened his first atelier in Rome in 1959. In his debut collection
was a tulle dress in a distinctive red called the Fiesta. It was the first of
many. In the years to come, Valentino would design countless dresses
in this bold and unapologetic hue, never running short of inspiration for
new ways to bring it to life. Drapes of velvet. Seductive corsetry softened
by delicate lace. Dazzling jewels and intricate beading. Roses and
ruffles, fringing and feathers.
