To play a digitised file to the whole class

IN THE TEACHER CONTROL CENTRE (right hand screen):

Make sure whole class is logged on (identifiers will be shown in student positions
on class layout).

Select whole class as a group (the default start-up group is 'New Group 1').

Drag PCProf into left-hand column below 'New Group 1'.


The Source Configuration window will appear: check 'Audio' and 'active' (the
defaults), and click OK.

ON THE LEFT-HAND SCREEN:

Find the file (if you are using a removable memory stick this will be Drive E:.

To start the file, double-click on it. If it is a .wav file, Windows Media Player
will start up - you operate this like a normal tape recorder, with the advantage
that the slider indicating position on the 'tape' can be dragged to any position.

TO BROADCAST TO THE GROUP:

Right-click on PCProf; then click 'Transmit Source' (the black arrow at the bottom
of the left-hand column now has a red cross). The class should now be able to hear
- get them to adjust their headset volume to a comfortable level.

If you want to prevent students from doing anything else while listening to the
exercise, right-click on 'New Group 1' and then click on 'Blank Screen'.
