2. Importing your clip

Click 'Import movie' or drag your movie clip into the storyboard, like so:

Now drag your


thumbnails onto
the timeline for editing

Now you can begin to edit your clips.

3. Basic clip editing

i) adding titles and subtitles

Click 'Make titles or credits

This will open the text field for your titles.

Type in your text...

...click 'Change the title animation'

This will open the titles menu. (You can choose a range of animations, styles and positions.)

For subtitles choose 'Subtitle'

Then click 'Done, add title to movie'

Note: You can preview your titles in the


previewing window of Movie Maker.

ii) Modifying your titles

Your text will appear as a


grey box on the 'Title Overlay'
layer of the timeline:

● Stretch the boxes to cover the frames you want.


● Double-click the text boxes to edit the texts.
● Copy and paste the boxes to create new subtitles.

4. Exporting your movie

To export your movie use the Task menu:

Click 'Save to my Computer'


And follow the Movie Maker default settings.

Your movie will be saved as a good


quality Windows Movie file (*.wmv).

Preview your new movie in your media player
