Video Conversion

1. First you will need to obtain your video clip. This can be ripped from a DVD, downloaded from the
web, or recorded from satellite TV.

Once you have obtained a clip, you can convert it with WinFF.

WinFF is a free video converter that can handle a wide range of formats.http://www.winff.org/

2. Once you have a clip,


- browse to Desktop – Resources – Common tasks – Video Editing
- Launch WinFF

3. Now click and browse to your chosen clip.

4. In the 'Convert to...' menu select a


format suited to your purpose.

(Note: 'DIVX mpeg3' and 'WMV' are good


choices to play with Windows MediaPlayer
or to edit with Windows MovieMaker).

5. Select your Output folder (the location to


save the converted file).

6. Click and wait. (Note: Depending on the size of the clip this may take some time).

7. While the video is processing, the


command window keeps you updated.

8. When the conversion is complete, test your new clip in your media players.
