4. About the Project

4.1. Project Description:

As a member of Girls of the Philippines, I want to be an advocate of goodness and

help for the betterment of our community. This project is called “Pa Poso”: for accessible
clean drinking water. It is anchored to the Mission, Vision, The Girl Scout Promise and The
Girl Scout Law that a Girl Scouts is helpful, proactive and help other people at all times and
to realize the ideals of womanhood and prepare themselves for their responsibilities in the
home, the nation, and the world community. With this, it will develop the community
capacities to provide an accessible and safe drinking water for every household. Having an
access to clean water is very important because Water is a vital need of a human being as
one cannot survive without it. Water Pump is the most economical and simple solutions in
providing a collective supply for the community. This will also help them not to fetch water in
a distant areas.
I want to encourage my fellow Maayonanons to share their part as a concerned
human being in this world. I know this will be challenging in my part as a student in terms of
time management but I will try my best to fulfill this duty as a Girl Scout of the Philippines.
To implement this project, I have to coordinate with the barangay officials, municipal
officials and with my work group for their cooperation and maintenance. I have to make them
understand the purpose of this project by explaining about the said project that it will benefit
to the community. My site is located in Sitio Agkaragumay, Brgy. East Villaflores, Maayon
Capiz.

4.2. Objective:

The Major Goal of the project

Improve the quality of life of the people in Sitio Agkaragumay by providing them easy access
to clean drinking water.

4.3. Methods:

To make my project carried out methodically and in organized manner. I must construct a
scheme to help fulfill this. First is to gather information about the information related to the
problems in the community. Then interview the BHW of our community and some Barangay
officials. After knowing the real problem of the community, my next step is to find and
research solutions to the problem with my troop leader. Also I will ask some advice to the
authorized persons about the project. I will plan to work and start organizing with my
workgroup. Then, conducting a meeting with them regularly to talk about my chosen project.
The next thing to do is implement my finish project and gathering the feedbacks from the

BENEFITS OF DRINKING WATER

Drinking Water Helps Maintain the Balance of Body Fluids. Your body is composed of about
60% water. The functions of these bodily fluids include digestion, absorption, circulation,
creation of saliva, transportation of nutrients, and maintenance of body temperature.
It’s commonly recommended that you drink eight 8-ounce (237-mL) glasses of water per day
(the 8×8 rule).
Getting enough water every day is important for your health. Water has no calories, so it can
also help with managing body weight and reducing calorie intake when substituted for drinks
with calories, such as sweet tea or regular soda.
Drinking water can prevent dehydration, a condition that can cause unclear thinking, result in
mood change, cause your body to overheat, and lead to constipation and kidney stones.
Water Helps Energize Muscles. Cells that don't maintain their balance of fluids and
electrolytes shrivel, which can result in muscle fatigue.

WATER CONSERVATION

Water conservation is the careful use and preservation of water supply, and it includes both
the quantity and quality of water utilized.
Water is an essential asset for the nourishment of all life. The fundamental demand for all
activities appropriates local use to the agricultural industry.
Water conservation has become an essential practice in every part of the world, even in
regions where water appears to be enough. It is the most practical and environment-friendly
approach to lessen our need for water.
Conserving water saves energy. Energy is important to filter, heat, and pump water to your
home, so lessening your water use likewise decreases your carbon traces.
Consuming less water keeps more in our environments and aids with keeping wetland
habitats best for creatures like otters, water voles, herons, and fish. This is particularly
significant during dry season periods.
Conserving water can save you money. If you have a water meter, the less water you use,
the less you might be charged by your water company.
THE ADVANTAGES OF MANUAL WATER PUMP
A water pumps water from the well with minimal effort, as the water flow is less than that of
automatic devices.
The hand pump devices are simple to operate and provide access to enough water to serve
communities quickly and easily.
It is made with materials that are resistant to environmental factors, including humidity,
allowing them to be used in a variety of spaces.
They have become more affordable and accessible while consuming less energy.
A hand pump opens access to deeper groundwater that is often not polluted and also
improves the safety of a well by protecting the water source from contaminated buckets.
