Barangay Galas consisted of 12 Sitio’s namely Paraiso, Lobing ogis, Tubod, Bagacayan, South
Curvada, Nourth Curvada, Anahaw, South Baybay, North Baybay, Laoag, Lower, Banicapt and
Upper Banicapt. The largest community in Dipolog is Barangay Galas. Despite how many they
may appear to be, the residents of this village support one another through good times and bad.
Before, the residents of this town had always stood out for their unique lifestyles and pursuits of
a decent life. There are wealthy and poor inhabitants in this barangay, but this does not affect
how people respect one another since in this barangay we believe of a friendly community and
did not care about the distinctions we have. But time passes were newest generation are born
didn’t get the aspect of value living in this community. Barangay Galas has now the highest rate
of teenage pregnancy ages from 14 to 18 years old. The lifestyle was still good in our
community because even though Barangay Galas has the highest rate of teenage pregnancy it
doesn’t affect grateful the residents living in this community. Some of the residents here also
help upon cleaning the side of the beaches to maintain an eco-friendly environment. One of the
amenities that Barangay Galas have is the covered court because every year the 12 sitio’s with
their group of young men gather in covered court to play a game called Basketball were each
teams fight for best of the best in this game and win. This is we’re we see different residents
from different sitio supporting their teams in the game everyone was shouting, screaming and
cheering for their teams. Also the other amenities in this Barangay is the LOG House it’s a new
bar that can be found Lobing Ogis and what’s good inside this bar is that it’s not just a simple
bar that you will find in other community that only serves drinks but also this bar has a music
lounge we’re it was open for anyone who would want to sing their heart out. It’s was a freshly
start of Barangay Galas to have more amenities that would attract other people. Next amenities
that this community have is the Garden ni Lolo Vic that can only be found at one of the sitio’s
of Barangay Galas Sitio Anahaw it’s one of the newest destination of some residents in the
community because of its surrounding and a beautiful instagramable spots that can only be
found here at Barangay Galas. This new destination doesn’t have the biggest swimming pools
but it will give a comfortable experience and if you want your friends to have a bonding time I
would definitely suggest this place also the expenses is very affordable. The last amenities that
this community have is the POWERS that can be found at Sitio Lobing Ogis it’s quite similar to
the Garden ni Lolo Vic to be having a swimming pool but also it provide a wonderful room if
you we’re also planning on having a bonding time with your family or friends having an
overnight stay this place is highly recommended many people has visit this place and they said
they have a wonderful experience. The lifestyle and the amenities that I have mention earlier
was the reason why the Barangay Galas is the biggest community in Dipolog City and in that
way the residents living in this barangay get to experience this kind of amenities that our
barangay have in a cheap very affordable way also and eco-friendly community that makes our
beach unique that’s why many people tend to come in our beaches and swim because of its
clean and eco-friendly environment.
