CHAPTER-IV

ANALYSIS AND INTERPRETATION

"Analysis is a process of organising and interpretation of data in such a


way that research questions can be answered."

 This chapter deals with the analysis and interpretations of data


collected from 60 school going children parents who are residing in
urban slums of S.R.nagar Hyderabad.

 A Structured questionnaire and attitude scale was used for the data
collection and analysis was done with the help of statistics.

 The study aimed at gathering information about "knowledge and


attitude on childhood obesity and its prevention" among parents of
school going children .

 The data was entered into the master sheet.

 Findings of the study are organised into following sections.

- Sample description
-Knowledge of childhood obesity and its prevention among parents of
school going children.
OBJECTIVES OF THE STUDY:

 To assess the existing knowledge of parents regarding childhood


obesity and its prevention.
 To administer the Information Education Communication (IEC)
package on knowledge regarding childhood obesity and its
prevention among parents.
 To assess the post knowledge score among parents regarding
childhood obesity and its prevention.
 To associate knowledge score of parents with their selected
demographic variable.

SAMPLE DESCRIPTION:

The total number of parents of school going children were 60 that is who
are residing in urban slum of S.R.nagar ,Hyderabad.

The sample characteristics selected for analysis in this study were

1. Age

2. Sex

3. Education

4. Occupation
5. Number of children

6. Number of school going children

7. Habit of junk food

8. Habit of Exercise

9. Type of diet

10. child taking any medication

11.Out door play time

12.Staple food

13.Monthly income of the family

14.Habit of watching any sort of entertainment

15.Time spend with chidren for activities
