MODULE 6.2 INNOVATION MANAGEMENT IMPLEMENTATION

Objectives:
1. To discuss what social innovation is all about.
2. To understand and identify the six social innovation fundamentals.
3. To understand and clearly discuss the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SGD).
4. To implement the so called innovation management by focusing on one specific SDG and
try to find an innovation which can be related to this SDG. Students have to invent
something which makes the world better and may create a prototype even later.

Objective:
To implement the so called innovation management by
focusing on one specific SDG and try to find an innovation
which can be related to this SDG.
a) Students have to invent something which makes the
world better and may create a prototype even later.
b) Students may go back to their CAPSTONE project during
their previous course and come up with an innovation on
such a project.

Innovation Management Project Proposal :


An innovation management project proposal is a guide for
both students and mentors in attaining tasks while they are
in community project implementation. It serves as a basis of
designing the program of activities and key instruments and
inputs in monitoring and evaluating the projects to be
undertaken in the community.

Purpose of an Innovation Management Project Proposal
a. It guides students and mentors in designing a program for their
clientele.
b. It facilitates implementation, monitoring and evaluation of the
projects.
c. It serves as a data base in making reports as a requirement to the
course.
d. It makes work easier for it serves as a reference for students to give
the right information needed for the project.
e. It serves as a ready source of data for research work.

Innovation Management Project Proposal
1. Title & Name.
The title of the project must effectively capture the aim or thrust of the project. The title
(in bold) may be in English or Filipino, with a subtitle (in parenthesis) that concisely
describes the main target of the said project.
The name of the student should be indicated also.

3. UN Sustainable Development Goal/s Addressed. To
ensure relevance of the project to the sustainable
development goals (SDGs) of the United Nations, this
portion indicates which of the 17 UN SDGs how it/they can
be addressed by the said project.
4. Project Duration - The duration specifies the days,
weeks and months needed to complete the project. It
discusses when the project will commence and when it will
be finished.

5. Objectives of the Project.
The objectives of the project must be written in operational terms
on what you intend to do to solve the identified problems related to
the project.
The characteristics of the objectives must be specific, measurable,
attainable, realistic, and time bound (SMART). State properly by
using the right verbs that describe what you want to address in
relation to the underlying problems within a certain period of time.

6. Project Description.
In constructing the description of the project, be guided by the following
questions:
a. What is the project all about? This portion briefly describe the “anatomy”
of the project – what it is about, its components or phases, and its target
beneficiaries.
b. What is to be learned in this community context? On this part, discuss and
enumerate the points of learning that the proponents may acquire should
the project be implemented in the target community.

7. Rationale. The reasons for proposing the said project may be discussed
through the following points:
a. How the Idea for the Project Developed This narrates the events or
experiences of the students that called for the proposal of the said project
in the partner community. What is the project about?
b. Students’ Current Knowledge and Skills and How the Project will Enrich
Them . This part discusses what competencies the proponents have at
present, which will be utilized during project implementation. It also
justifies how the project can likewise improve these competencies.
c. Benefits of the Project to the Student’s Lifelong Skills. This part enumerates
the lifelong skills that the project can enrich among the students in the
course of its implementation.

8. Methodologies. This part cites ALL the activities & strategies (in
order) that should be undertaken in order to achieve the objectives of
project. It should describe the general approach of the project, agency
counterpart in case of partnership, responsibilities and obligations,
manpower requirement and the manner on how the specific activity
will be undertaken if the project calls for it.
9. Detailed Budgetary Requirements. In preparation for the project,
the budgetary requirement of all activities must be considered. This
part must list down in detail all the forecasted expenses the project

10. Detailed Schedule of Activities
In tabular form, this part of the project specifies the following
important information: target dates and time of implementation,
activities involved for each date, and the persons involved for each
activity. It also includes a creative visual presentation of the project life
cycle (in chart or graphical presentation).
