(iii) Sonu and Monu had adjacent triangular elds with a common boundary of 25 m. The other

of fer liza on is Rs 20 per sq m, then nd the total cost of fer liza on for both of Sonu and
Monu together. (4 marks)

(ii) In a rectangle PQRS, prove that PR2 + QS 2 = PQ 2 + Q R 2 + R S 2 + SP 2 (3 marks)

(iii) In a river, a boat covers 8 km in 40 min while travelling downstream, but takes 60 min for the
return journey. If the speed of the boat and the ow of the river are uniform, nd the speed of
the boat in s ll water and speed of the stream. (4 marks)

13. (i) 3 equal cubes are placed adjacently in a row. Find the ra o of the total surface area of the
new cuboid to that of the sum of the surface areas of three cubes. (3 marks)

16. (i) From the top of a tall building of height 24 m, the angle of depression of the top of another
building is 45° whose height is 10 m. Find the distance between the two buildings. (4 marks)
(ii) A and B start at the same me from two places 30 km apart. If they walk in the same
direc ons, A overtakes B in 10 hours and if they walk in opposite direc ons they meet in 2hours.
Find the rates of walking of A and B. (6 marks)
