Subject: Reduction of contingency charges for the execution of National Highways

Ministry vide Circular No. RW/NH-11023/4/2000-US(D) dated 30 October, 2000 had
reduced the Contingency Charges for the execution 'Jf National Highways Works from J
% tc 2.8 % of the Civil Cost and this is being followed for all National Highways related
works.

...., .. W;th the approval of the Competent Authority, it has ~n decided that
henceforth Contingency Charges for all NH related works will be levied @1% of the
CivH Cost component of instead of existing Z.8%. This shall apply to all estirnat~
\-"/hether original or revised.

3. This change in the contingency charges will be effective from the date of issue of
tim letter. Projects which- already been cleared by SFC/EFC/PIB wilt not be effected by
t his decision.
