Ministry of Road, Transport & Highways (MORT&H) has invited tender from consultants to

provide Consultancy services for feasibility study (FS) and preparation of detailed project report
and providing pre-construction services for construction and upgradation of road Bhaironghati -
Nelong-Naga-Angar-PDA-Medikay to National Highway Double lane specification under
Bharatmala pariyojna in the State of Uttarakhand in 36 BRTF Sector of Project Shivalik
Corridor: - Entire stretch Bhaironghati- Nelong (9.6 Km) – Nelong- Naga-Angar-PDA Medikay
(38.60Km).
Tentative length is 48.20 km.
To assess the condition of the roads and structures and the type of terrain and constraints in this
corridor, our highway engineer and bridge engineer have visited the sites and taken photographs
of important roads/structures all along the project road. The appreciations of the sites are
described below.

The total road length in these two sections is approx. (9.6 Km + 38.60 Km) 48.20 Km. The
project corridor starts at Bhaironghati (Uttarakhand) and ends at PDA Medikay (Uttarakhand).
The terrain condition is Hilly.
Latitude and Longitude of Bhaironghati and PDA Medikay (31.0113° N, 78.8821° E and
31.1710° N, 79.4295° E) respectively.

The existing road width is around 7m with black top from Bhaironghati to Nelong valley and
kaccha road from Nelong to Angar (Uttarakhand). Due to stone coming from the mountain, the
condition of the roads is fair except in some areas. There are numbers of curves along the stretch.
The road stretch has number of substandard curves as per MORTH. LA may be required at
certain locations where is not feasible to construct the road within the existing ROW. Some tree
cutting will be required along the project road for construction road.
There is three existing bridges one Bhaironghati Bridge, one is at Nelong valley and one is at
Naga valley all bridges across Jadh Ganga river.
