Chapter I

INTRODUCTION

This chapter of the paper presents the problem and its setting. It includes the

background of the study, the statement of the problem, significance of the study and

scope and delimitation of the study.

Background of the Study

Managing time for a grade 12 Gas student is very difficult, due to the division of

time into tasks because most of them have jobs or housework. It is hard to fit in the time

of the virtual class and it will cause nothing to be learned because there are other priority

tasks. And it will also affect the daily expenses especially for those who are short on

money and those who do not have internet connection.

The main accomplishment of regular and distant learners is controlling using time

wisely. Mismanagement interferes with students’ academic success learners.

Particularly in the student's location, as it will be challenging for the student to

keep up with what is being taught if the internet is poor there. There is also generally

weak connectivity mostly in community.

Students in Grade 12 Gas will find it challenging because the college course is

built on this. It will be challenging since the students won't be able to concentrate because

the teacher won't be focused, which will result in a lack of knowledge and could cause

the pupils to forget what is being taught.

Dividing time for work or homework at the same time as an online class is one of

the most difficult for students because they cannot focus and may fallen behind in the

lecture.

The main accomplishment of regular and distant learners is controlling using time

wisely. Mismanagement interferes with students’ academic success learners.

Statement of the Problem

The study’s objective is to aid those who lack the knowledge on how to manage

their time when it is limiting.

1) What are the effects of time management to Grade 12 Gas students in online

classes?

2) What are the reasons why students don’t have any time to accomplish their

works?

3) How do grade 12 Gas students handle their responsibilities and complete them if

they lack time?

4) How do students cope with the simultaneous work if there is not enough time?

Hypothesis (If applicable)

The hypothesis will be raised in the study and will be tested at .05 level of

significance.

Ho: There is no significant effect of time management to grade 12 Gas

students in online classes.

Scope and Limitation of the Study

This study focused on the Effects of Time Management to Grade 12

Student in Online Classes. The respondents of the study were composed of 30 randomly

selected grade 12 students of San Francisco High School. As an amount of number of

student experience of having a hard time, by managing their time on the online classes.

To be more specific, grade 12 Gas students of San Francisco High School, regardless of

their gender, religious, age, and place.

Significance of the Study

The study aims to gain kanowledge on the effects of the time management of the

Grade 12 Gas students of San Francisco High School during the online class. The results

and findings of the study will greatly benefit the following:

Students. The results will help the Grade 12 Gas students to fully know the ways on how

to manage their time.

Teachers. The study will let the teachers to teach and help the students on how to

manage their time to be able to finish the job.

Future Researchers. The context of the study will remain as a guide to future

researchers who aims to gain more knowledge on how time management can affect the

performance of Grade 12 Students.
