    The deck crane on the TMC BALD EAGLE would not boom due to a blockage in the oil return passage inside the boom cylinder block. After reconditioning the block and replacing embedded valves and a plug adapter, the crane was tested and all movements and degrees of freedom were confirmed to be functioning properly.

    SERVICE REPORT
    INCIDENT / DEFECT MACHINERY MAKE

    CRANE DOESN’T BOOM IN DECK CRANE. PALFINGER

    CAUSE:

    BLOCKAGE OF OIL RETURN PASSAGE INSIDE THE BOOM CYLINDER BLOCK

    INSPECTION/ ACTIONS TAKE


    • After proper reconditioning of the block and the embedded valves inside the block.
    • The block and the valves were assembled and mounted back to the crane.
    • The oil line plug adapter was replaced with a new one.
    • The crane was started, tested, and confirmed okay.

    REMARKS:
    After reconditioning the boom cylinder block, and installation.
    The crane was Started and tested, and all the number of movement and degrees of freedom were
    confirmed okay.
