identify the role and objectives of this institutions.

European Social Fund is the European Community’s main too for the development of
human resources and the improvement of the workings of the labour market. The
objectives of this institution are to tackle unemployment by making it easier to get
access to the job market.

Kent TEC is a private company that welcomes the involvement of additional agencies
responsible for funding and support of its client group. The objectives are to help all
those with an interest in work.

II. 1. Why don’t a large number of youngsters complete their training successfully?

A large number of youngster don’t complete their training successfully because they are
not ready or able to take advantage of it.

2. What do they normally do after they drop out once?

After they drop out once, they will do this many more times and this demotivates the
young people.

3. What are the most serious consequences of repeated failure?

The most serious consequences of repeated failure are demotivation and the risk of
total exclusion from the labour market.

4. What kind of help does the SDP intend to offer to disadvantaged young people?

The SDP intends to help the disadvantaged young people by offering: a more flexible
service guided by young people’s needs, to recognize that all agencies involve have
shared responsibility and should work together in partnershio, to creat
stability,sustainability and security for the users and providers of the service.

5. Can any young person take advantage of this programme?

Yes. Any young person between 16 and 18 years old.

6. What problems can lead to social exclusion?

The problems that can lead to social exclusion are: low self-esteem and little
confidence, pregnancy with inadequate support, being victims of abuse, including drugs,
physical, sexual or mental abuse, unrealistic or unclear vocational goals, inability to
coup in groups, homelessness or unsuitable housing conditions, literacy and numeracy
problems.

7. What are the main causes of school dropout in Romania?

The main causes of school dropout in Romania are: family problems, such as abuse,
parents that are alcoholics, problems with money, they are going in foreign countries to
make money.
