Reaction Paper

Nothing beats experience when it comes to learning. Life is full of unexpected twists and turns that
would test our abilities, capabilities, adaptability, and resilience to various situations. That’s why as
students, it is important to undertake On the Job Training to train and equip us with the necessary
weapons and armors that would help us battle the hurdles life will throw at us.

We had our OJT at the Philippine National Police- Echague Station under the supervision of Chief Police
___________.

The 280 hours needed to finish the OJT period was a drag at first but later on it felt like time was just
passing away. On our first week, it was very awkward and boring but as the days and weeks went on we
got accustomed to “how things worked” in the bureau. We started to fit in. Doing the errands and tasks
assigned to us wasn’t that bad either.

We do the usual things like cleaning the office, encoding reports, buying meals and merienda,
accompanying police officers during seminars and taking photographs, reporting at different outposts ,
and goofing around a lot with the policemen. Because of the good working environment in the bureau,
it wasn’t very hard for us to vibe in, to learn and to upskill during the duration of the OJT period.
Although we weren’t able to learn things about rescuing and responding to crimes, we learned great
things from the personnel of PNO Echague because they taught us based from their personal
experiences with regards to life, work, and specially employment after graduation. At the end of our
OJT, I have realized that OJT is not just a compulsory requirement that I would undertake but also an
avenue to apply the theoretical knowledge and skills that I acquired to be ready in real-life challenges
and opportunities that may come my way. I believe that the things we’ve learned in this experience will
greatly impact our lives professionally and personally.

I am thankful for the experience I gained
