The eighty hours of work immersion is helpful and meaningful experience during Senior
High School. It is a privilege for me to have a work experience in PNP department in which I
gain knowledge, ideas, insight and background for my dream profession. This experience helps
Our work immersion gave me valuable leanings that I probably wouldn’t learn in just by
studying. It gave me lessons and experiences of what the outside world really offers. My two
weeks experience at PNP Arakan help me realized the importance of the responsibility of being a
police officer.
In our first week, we cater our clients by doing their police clearance and extracting of
blotter. Police clearance is an official document issued as a result of a background check by the
police or government agency of a country to enumerate any criminal records that the applicant
may have; on the other hand, blotter is used in writing down information about people or events.
We encountered some problem like malfunctioning of the printer and the space of our work
place is small. There are also clients who are impatient and always in a hurry. We apologize and
explain to them that we’re new in that area and we’re not expert in making of police clearance.
In that point, I realize that in serving people is not a piece of cake. You need a lot of patient and
good attitude in order to work well and give satisfaction of our service in clients.
In our second week is the most exciting part for me. PSSg Jay Canto taught us the different
rules that exist in our country, Philippines and what would the punishment if you violated the
laws. He also taught us the parts and uses of firearms. Also, he emphasize that the firearms in
their profession are not intended to end life, but is to protect yourself and the others. He make
sure that we know how to handle and carry properly the firearms ( Glock 17 and M16) with
caution. I realized that having a work includes a continuous leanings and practices. It made me
appreciate the teachings that I learned and going to be learn in the near future.
In the short of time as a Work Immersion student, I’m so grateful that I got to experience
all of this. I enjoyed the real-life experiences, although I had a hard time of doing some of it. It
helped me to understand what a work look is really alike and how to work with other people. It
gave me a bigger picture of what I want to be in the future and the improvements that I need to
