First Day of Work Immersion

This day of January 24, 2019 was the day when we were deployed as work

immersion employees in the different offices of the Local Government Unit of Santol, La

Union.

I first arrived at exactly 6:30 am even though the official time of our meeting and

deployment was 8:00 in the morning. The time remaining before the official time was

spent in observing the municipal hall and by reading. After our deployment I together

with Juan Carlos was toured around by Madame Danessa Jean Valdez with the

instruction of Sir Cenon Tuquero who is both under the supervision of Madame Rachel

Arellano. In the office we were taught how to record important documents and

information’s such as petty cash, disbursement, travel order, pass slip and confidential

stuffs.

The thing I learned in this experience was that being alone was not enough to do

things, which is why we always need someone.

Second Day of Work Immersion

Second day of our work immersion I arrived at the municipal hall of Santol at

exactly 6:32 in the morning.

The first thing I did when I got there was to go to our office but because I was

alone I decided to clean after that I went for a stroll around the offices. When the time

comes we were tasked to record incoming documents from the different office and then

released it after it was signed by the administrator and the mayor who was in today

despite of his busy schedule. We were also tasked to print and scan documents. This day I

was not yet fully knowledgeable in recording documents that was why I asked for

assistance in the things I had no knowledge at all.

This experience made me thought of a saying that goes this way “marunong ang

nagtatanong” which means you can avoid making future mistake by the knowledge you

gain from asking.

Third Day of Work Immersion

My third day of work immersion happened on Monday and started at exactly 6:32

am in the morning.

The first thing I did when I get there was to take a little rest and help the

utility worker to clean the office. After that I got ready for the flag raising ceremony that

only happen in the municipal hall of Santol every Monday. When the flag raising

ceremony finished, I was tasked to record the documents such as travel orders, pass lip,

certification of things, and permit to engage in business and other kinds of documents to

the different office brought to our office and then released those documents back to the

different offices just like the previous days.

The only difference of today in the previous days was that we were late in having

our lunch by an hour and I have enough time to have some talk with Ms. Danessa Jean

Valdez.

Fourth Day of Work Immersion

This day January 29, 2019 was my fourth day being a work immersion

employee at the local government unit of Santol.

I arrived this morning at exactly 6:33 am which was late by one whole minute

compare to yesterday. This very day, we were visited by our work immersion focal

adviser Mr. Jumar Hufemia. This day also, I think I am now accustomed in being an

employee. The tasked I accomplish for today were encoding the history of a church,

record travel orders, permit to engage in business and other kinds of documents and

release them just like the previous days.

In the end of day, I learned that meeting different kind of individuals was not bad

instead it help me to have a better social life that will help me become a better person

now and in days left in my life.

Fifth day of our work immersion dated January 30, 2019 I arrived at the

municipal hall of Santol at exactly 6:33 in the morning.

First thing I did when I got there was to go to our office and wipe the tables clean.

After that I went down to waste time. When the time comes we were tasked to record

incoming documents from the different office and then release it after it was counter

signed by the administrator and was signed by the mayor who was in this day despite of

his busy schedule. In the afternoon there was nothing we do and the last thing we did

with my partner was to scan document at approximately 60 pages for the copy of a

certain office for this confidential documents.

At the end of the day I think I was getting more used in being a work immersion

employee here at the local government of Santol.

the municipal hall of Santol is located.

The first thing I did when I got there was to go to our office and clean. In the

morning, we were tasked to encode the history of something confidential and in the

afternoon I was tasked to encode some sort of roles and responsibilities. We were also

tasked to record and scan documents and release some of it in different offices. Aside

from that we also compile the administrative office copies of these documents.

There was something new that I experience this day and that was, in work place

being friendly was nice but we need to always exercise formality as it is a rule in this

place.

Seventh Day of Work Immersion

We all know that February is known as the month for love that’s why almost all

the people were excited. For me this first day of February states that it’s only three days

more and our work immersion will be done.

This very day was my seventh day of work immersion and that I was tasked with

different activities just like yesterday and the other day. But first I arrived in the morning

at exactly 6:31 am, thus I proceeded to our office and clean. After that, I patiently waited

for my supervisors to come to work.

The things I’ve done for today were to compile and to record documents about

purchase, expenses, travel, presence of employees, orders, mayor’s permit and events that

will took soon and by that I feel a little bit disappointed because I will be no longer here

to witness. On the other hand, I am grateful for the time given to me to be here and that I

will always appreciate the kindness that I was able to experience.

Eight Day of Work Immersion

Eight day of work immersion we attended the first flag raising ceremony of the

local government unit of Santol in February.

The first thing that I did in the office was to get the numbers of the barangay

captains from the association of barangay captains office located in the third floor. Then

after that I was tasked to release of certificate of completion to the human resource

department office. After the break, I was asked to deliver newspapers to the tourism

office and in the library and was asked to print some documents needed to be finalized by

our supervisor. In the afternoon, I together with ate Danessa went to get forms from the

municipal of social welfare and development office. And then announce the meeting that

was held by our head office to the different head officer in the local government office of

Santol. In addition to that, before we head out for our practice in the school I recorded

travel orders, pass lip, certification of things, permit to engage in business and other kinds

of documents.

Ninth Day of Work Immersion

Ninth day of our work immersion I arrived at 6:34 am at the municipal hall of

Santol. Yesterday we didn’t went to work because it was a holiday in which Chinese

people celebrates Chinese New Year.

What I did when I got there was to go to our office and clean. In the morning, I

was tasked to release some documents to the executive office after that I photo-copied 10

different documents. Our teacher Mr.Jumar Hufemia visited us and made us sign the

form. After we signed I was tasked to release documents to BAC (bids and Award)

office, Human Resource Management office and in the Sangguniang Bayan office. I was

also tasked to record documents such as certification, travel order, pay roll, disbursement

mayor’s permit and other types of documents.

This day just like yesterday we were out early because we were instructed to go to

our school to practice for our upcoming Junior and Senior Prom.

Tenth Day of Work Immersion

Tenth day of our work immersion was supposed to be the last day of our work

immersion but because of our executive practice in our school we were bound to extend

our service for another day to reach the required working hours for us.

I arrived this morning at exactly 6:34 am at the municipal hall of Santol. All day

long the things I’ve done were to record, release, receive and compile documents one

after the other. Some of those documents were disbursement voucher, petty cash voucher,

pass slip, travel order, AMO, certificate of rendered overtime service, mayor’s permit,

endorsement, office order, checks and other kinds of documents.

Eleventh Day of Work Immersion

February 8. 2019 was our eleventh day of work immersion. This day was also our

last day in which I arrived at 6:38 in the morning.

When we first started our work immersion, I kind of wish that it should be ended

earlier or it doesn’t happen to us but as the time goes by, being an immersion employee

became enjoyable and knowledgeable that makes me wish to last longer.

My feelings aside, this day was just like the other day where I record, release,

receive, compile and scan documents one after another. Those documents were certificate

of rendered overtime service, mayor’s permit, endorsement, office order, disbursement

voucher, petty cash voucher, pass slip, travel order, AMO, checks and other more

confidential files.

Now I kind of understand people I’ve known when they were broken hearted and

the feelings of the protagonist in the stories I’ve read when they were apart with their

love ones because of they day.
