Quarterly lockdown drills will occur every third Wednesday. Quarterly lockdown drills

On September 15th at 8:33 a.m., a father marches past the front office, disregards the

hallway.

One full school evacuation will occur on April 1st at 10:48 a.m. The school administrator
will send a mass message to all parents to inform them of the school participating in an
emergency evacuation. The school administrator will also include the location of where the
students will be during the emergency evacuation. Students in grades 1-3 will be stationed one
block east of the school building. Students in grades 4-5 will be stationed one block west of the
school building.
All teachers will take part in trainings involving student and staff evacuation plans. Also,
all teachers will take part in trainings on the different procedures for the numerous safety drills.
All students will be released early from school on teacher training days. Safety drills and teacher
training reminders will be given to teachers via the monthly faculty newsletters and the weekly
Revisiting/debriefing will occur the exact day as teacher training since all students will
leave school early. During the revisiting/debriefing stage, there will be discussions concerning
what went well, what can be improved upon, and what areas need more support.
Collaboration took place amongst myself and my leadership team during the creation of
the safety plan. The safety calendar was created with the dates and times for the safety drills that
would happen throughout the year. The goal was to have faculty members and students
experience the various safety drills. The best way for this to happen was to schedule the drills at
various times, in various situations, and various places for everyone to get more experience on
the safety drills and how to act during them. My leadership team was able to advise me on where
each grade level would be located throughout the building at specific times of the day. My
leadership team also acknowledged the teachers that would not have students during the safety
drills. These teachers without students would lend support to others in different areas throughout
The school’s mission and vision statements were maintained during the collaboration
process performed to construct and implement the safety plans and drills. The objective was to
guarantee a safe school environment. Safety drills are a mandatory and legal requirement for all

schools. The debrief occurs on the days that students leave the school early so that learning is not
disturbed so intensely.
The students and faculty members at the school must practice safety drills morally and
legally because each of them is susceptible to risks and danger. The school must practice
different safety drills each year for legal reasons. No school is excused from the emergencies that
occur in cities and neighborhoods (Desravines, Aquino, & Fenton, 2016). Every instructional
leader must take care of their students academically and physically. By having a set of solid
safety plans in place, faculty members and students will feel more confident on how to address
