A: Hi B. I heard that you got accepted into Huflit.

B: Yes, I did. I just got a school as a new student.
A: Oh, wow! How did you get into Huflit?
B: I failed in all five of my aspirations to get into my favorite university. At first, I
felt sad and stressed a lot. Then I decided to submit my school report to Huflit.
Fortunately, I passed. It turned out to be the best thing that ever happened to me.
A: That’s great. Congratulations!
UNIT 3: PET PEEVES
A: Hi B. I’m so annoyed.
B: What’s wrong, A. You look upset.
A: I was just at the coffee shop, and there was a girl there who interrupted my
story. It gets on my nerves when people are rude like that. I felt uncomfortable. I
told her directly and got up to leave.
B: Yeah, I hear you.
So, what’s your one of your biggest pet peeves?
+ You know what else bugs me? I hate it when people talk during a movie. It was
very noisy. Maybe I should just start watching movies at home from now on. I
might get less annoyed.
+ I can’t stand it when people stare at me. I felt scared and uncomfortable.

Thuy: How long have been at the coffee shop?
Ngọc: I arrived at the coffee shop 15 minutes ago.
Thuy: What are you doing?
Ngọc: I am preparing a birthday gift for my grandmother. It’s her 80th birthday.

Ngọc: I think that’s too late.

Ngọc: Yes,that’s good. Okay. Now, I have to go to the bakery to get my grandma's
birthday cake.
