1. Vocab Unit 3

 Go through the 18 expressions that you picked for SP 4 (December). Test yourself –
how well can you remember them? If necessary, study them again!
 Pick 15 more expressions to study (you can but don’t have to write them down).

2. The power of advertising


-> Your final result will be a handout / mindmap that you can either upload to OneNote or
hand in at school.

 Coursebook p. 41 ex 1: brainstorm how (and how much) ads affect our shopping
behavior (also try to remember some arguments from the online group discussion on
consumerism). Take notes!
 page 41 ex 2:
a) Read the article and write down the different kinds of ads it mentions (add the list to
your notes from ex 1).
b) Look through that list: which types of ads do you find most or least tempting
personally? Which most or least annoying? Make signs in your notes.
c) Work with the words highlighted in green. Make sure you know what they mean. Add
unfamiliar words (= ones you wouldn’t have thought to use in a discussion) to your
notes.
Then copy the table from the book and categorize the highlighted expressions.
d) Practice Pack p. 19 ex 7 + 8 (correct yourself with the Practice Pack Key)
