Remove And Install Implement Pump

1. Drain the oil from the hydraulic tank.
2. Remove the floor plate.
3. Remove the rear bottom guard. The weight of the rear bottom guard is 70 Kg (155 lb.).

4. Disconnect hose assemblies (1), (2), (3) and (4) from the implement pump.

5. Use tooling (A) and a chain to fasten a nylon strap to implement pump (5).
6. Remove four nuts (6) and the washers, and remove the implement pump from the machine. The
weight of the implement pump is 45 Kg (100 lb.).
NOTE: The following steps are for installation of the implement pump.
7. Make sure the O-ring seal is in position on the front of the implement pump.
8. Use a nylon strap, tooling (A) and a chain to put implement pump (5) in position.
9. Install the washers and four nuts (6).
10. Connect hose assemblies (1), (2), (3) and (4) to the implement pump.
11. Fill the hydraulic tank with oil to the correct level. See the Maintenance Guide.
12. Install the rear bottom guard.
13. Install the floor plate.
Disassemble Implement Pump

1. Remove O-ring seal (1) from pump (2).

2. Remove bolts (4) that hold compensator (3) to the pump, and remove the compensator.

3. Remove nut (5), screw (6), guide (7), spring (8), guide (9) and spool (10) from compensator (3).
4. Remove three seals (11) from the compensator.

5. Remove backup ring (12) and O-ring seal (13) from guide (7).

6. Loosen nut (21) and remove screw (20) from compensator (3).
7. Remove plug (19), guide (18), spring (16), guide (15) and spool (14) from the compensator.
8. Remove O-ring seal (17) from guide (18).

9. Remove three plugs (22) and (23) from compensator (3).
10. Remove the O-ring seals from plugs (22) and (23).

11. Remove eight bolts (25) and valve block (24) from pump (2).

12. Remove cylinder (26) and the spacer under it from valve block (24).
13. Remove cylinder (27) and spring (28) from the valve block.

14. Remove the four bolts that hold flange (29) to valve block (24). Remove flange (29) and the O-ring
seal from the valve block.
15. Remove control piston (30) and bias piston (32) from valve block (24). Remove the O-ring seal from
each of the pistons.
16. Remove valve plate (31) from the valve block.

17. If necessary, use tooling (A), and remove bearing cup (33) from valve block (24).
18. If necessary, remove pin (35) from the valve block.
19. Remove plug (37) and three plugs (34) from the valve block. Remove the O-ring seal from each of
the plugs.
20. If necessary, remove seat (36), the poppet and the spring from the valve block.

21. Remove gasket (38) from pump (2).
22. Remove bearing (39) from the shaft.

23. Remove spacer (40) and cylinder block (41) from the shaft.

24. Remove 6.4 mm (.25 in.) stock from the side of 4B5274 9/16" washer (43) as shown.
25. Use a press and a 4B5274 9/16" washer (43) to compress the spring, and remove snap ring (42) from
the groove in cylinder block (41).
26. Release the tension on the spring.
27. Remove washer (44), spring (45) and washer (46) from cylinder block (41).

30. Rotate spacer (50) 45°. Remove spacer (50), cage (52) and nine pistons (51).

NOTE: Shims are located under spacer (58) on side shown only.
34. Remove O-ring seal (59) and spacer (58) from both sides of the housing. Remove the shims under
spacer (58), on side shown.

35. Remove cup (60) and cone (61) from both sides of the housing.

36. Remove yoke (55) from housing (48).

37. Remove two stops (62) from yoke (55).

39. If necessary, remove cup (64) with tooling (A).
40. If necessary, remove seal (65) from housing (48). Use tool (B) to remove the snap ring under seal
(65).

41. If necessary, remove seal (66) from housing (48). Use tool (B) to remove the snap ring under seal
(66).
Assemble Implement Pump

1. Clean and inspect all parts. Replace all parts that are damaged or worn. Put clean oil on all of the
internal parts of the pump.
NOTE: Replace all O-ring seals, gaskets and shaft seals.

2. Use tool (A) to install the snap ring in housing (48).
3. Use tool (B) to install seal (66) in the housing.

4. Use tool (A) to install the snap ring in housing (48).
5. Use tool (B) to install seal (65) in the housing.
6. If cup (64) was removed from the housing, use tool (B) to install the cup in housing (48).
NOTE: If the yoke or yoke bearings have been replaced, a preload adjustment is necessary. For the
preload adjustment procedure, see the topic, "Adjustment Of Swash Plate Bearings" in Specifications,
Form No. SENR3258. No preload adjustment is necessary if the original yoke and bearings are used.

7. Install cone (63) in housing (48).

8. Apply 7M7456 Sealant to the shaft of two stops (62). Install the stops so that the centerline of radius
"X" is parallel with the pintle centerline, within 0.60 mm (.02 in.). Make sure the stops are seated against
yoke (55).

9. Install yoke (55) in housing (48).

10. Install bearing cones (61) and bearing cups (60) in both sides of the housing.

NOTE: Shims are to be installed under spacer (58) only on side of the housing shown.
11. Put the original shims, spacer (58) and O-ring seal (59) in position on the side of the housing shown.
12. Put spacer (58) and O-ring seal (59) in position on the side of the housing not shown.

13. Install cover (57) and the four bolts that hold it to housing (48). Tighten the bolts to a torque of 16 ±
1 N·m (142 ± 9 lb.in.).

14. Install dowel (56) in yoke (55).
NOTE: Put tape around the splines of shaft (53) to avoid damaging the shaft seals when the shaft is
installed.
15. Put shaft (53) in position in the housing.
16. Position swash plate (54) on yoke (55). Make sure hole "X" in swash plate (54) is in alignment with
dowel (56).
NOTE: If the shaft bearings, shaft, valve block or housing were replaced, an end play adjustment must
be made. For the end play adjustment, see the topic, "Shaft Bearing End Play Adjustment" in
Specifications, Form No. SENR3258. No end play adjustment is necessary if the original shaft bearings,
shaft, valve block and housing are used.

17. Put washer (46), spring (45), washer (44) and snap ring (42) in position in cylinder block (41).
18. Remove 6.4 mm (.25 in.) stock from the side of 4B5274 9/16" washer (43) as shown.
19. Use a press and 4B5274 9/16" washer (43) to compress the spring. Install snap ring (42) with tool
(A).

20. Position spacer (50), nine pistons (51) and cage (52) in cylinder block (41).

21. Put cylinder block (41) in position on shaft (53).
22. Rotate the cylinder block until the notch in spacer (50) is aligned with the hole in the yoke.
23. Install lock key (49) through the hole in the yoke and in the notch in the spacer.

24. Install original spacer (40) on the shaft. Make sure the chamfer on the spacer is toward the shoulder
on the shaft.
25. Install cover (47) and the four bolts that hold it. Tighten the bolts to a torque of 16 ± 1 N·m (142 ± 9
lb.in.).

26. Install bearing (39) on the shaft.
27. Put gasket (38) in position on pump (2).

28. If bearing cup (33) was removed, install the cup in valve block (24) with tool (B).
29. If pin (35) was removed, install the pin in the valve block.
30. Install the spring, the poppet and seat (36) in the valve block.
31. Install the O-ring seal on plug (37). Install plug (37) in the valve block. Tighten the plug to a torque
of 57 ± 3 N·m (42 ± 2 lb.ft.).
32. Install the O-ring seals on three plugs (34). Install three plugs (34) in the valve block. Tighten the
plugs to a torque of 16 ± 1 N·m (12 ± 1 lb.ft.).

33. Position the O-ring seal and flange (29) on valve block (24). Install the four bolts that hold flange
(29) in place.
34. Install the O-ring seals on control piston (30) and bias piston (32). Apply Locktite No. 271 on the
threads of pistons (30) and (32). Install piston (30) and (32) in the valve block. Tighten the pistons to a
torque of 80 ± 4 N·m (60 ± 3 lb.ft.).
35. Align the notch in valve plate (31) with the pin in valve block (24). Install valve plate (31) on the
valve block.

36. Install the spacer and cylinder (26) on the control piston.
37. Install spring (28) and cylinder (27) on the bias piston.

38. Put valve block (24) in position on pump (2), and install eight bolts (25) that hold the valve block.
39. Cross torque the bolts to bring the valve block, gasket and pump together. Tighten the bolts to a
torque of 52.5 ± 2.5 N·m (38.7 ± 2 lb.ft.).

40. Install the O-ring seals of plugs (22) and (23).
41. Install three plugs (22) in compensator (3). Tighten the plugs to a torque of 19 ± 1 N·m (14 ± 1
lb.ft.).
42. Install plug (23) in compensator (3). Tighten the plug to a torque of 43 ± 3 N·m (32 ± 2 lb.ft.).

43. Install O-ring seal (17) on guide (18).
44. Put spool (14), guide (15), spring (16) and guide (18) in position in the compensator.
45. Install plug (19), screw (20) and nut (21) in compensator (3).

47. Put spool (10), guide (9), spring (8), guide (7), screw (6) and nut (5) in position in compensator (3).
48. Install three O-ring seals (11) in compensator (3).

49. Put compensator (3) in position on the pump, and install four bolts (4) that hold it. Tighten the bolts
to a torque of 34 ± 3 N·m (25 ± 2 lb.ft.).

Remove And Install Implement Pump

1. Drain the oil from the hydraulic tank.

2. Remove the floor plate.

Disassemble Implement Pump

a. remove implement pump

1. Remove O-ring seal (1) from pump (2).

4. Remove three seals (11) from the compensator.

8. Remove O-ring seal (17) from guide (18).

9. Remove three plugs (22) and (23) from compensator (3).

16. Remove valve plate (31) from the valve block.

18. If necessary, remove pin (35) from the valve block.

21. Remove gasket (38) from pump (2).

22. Remove bearing (39) from the shaft.

26. Release the tension on the spring.

28. Remove cover (47) from housing (48).

29. Remove lock key (49) from housing (48).

32. Remove dowel (56) from yoke (55).

33. Remove cover (57) from housing (48).

36. Remove yoke (55) from housing (48).

37. Remove two stops (62) from yoke (55).

38. Remove bearing cone (63) from housing (48).

39. If necessary, remove cup (64) with tooling (A).

Assemble Implement Pump

NOTE: Replace all O-ring seals, gaskets and shaft seals.

2. Use tool (A) to install the snap ring in housing (48).

3. Use tool (B) to install seal (66) in the housing.

4. Use tool (A) to install the snap ring in housing (48).

5. Use tool (B) to install seal (65) in the housing.

7. Install cone (63) in housing (48).

9. Install yoke (55) in housing (48).

14. Install dowel (56) in yoke (55).

15. Put shaft (53) in position in the housing.

21. Put cylinder block (41) in position on shaft (53).

26. Install bearing (39) on the shaft.

27. Put gasket (38) in position on pump (2).

40. Install the O-ring seals of plugs (22) and (23).

43. Install O-ring seal (17) on guide (18).

48. Install three O-ring seals (11) in compensator (3).

50. Install O-ring seal (1) on pump (2).
