MY PHILOSOPHY AS A TEACHER

As a teacher , I must know and understand my students , how they learn and how they
develop. I know that student don’t learn in the same way or at the same rate . Therefore I
believe it’s my responsibility as a teacher to look for the interest and abilities of every single
student.. I plan my teaching based on that to allow all my students to participate in the
teaching and learning process .
Also , I believe a good teacher must understand motivation, and the effect of peer
interactions on learning. I want all my students to perform at high levels so I avoid sorting
and rather set them up to compete with each other. I plan learning so that student
collaborate with each other as much as possible.
Furthermore, as a teacher I believe in the power of questions and questioning strategies to
cause thinking. I always try to ask the best questions. Effective use of questions is the most
powerful strategy a teacher has to help students learn.
Finally, I believe a teacher is the most powerful of role models. I am aware of the obligations
I have with my students. If I ask them to live on good values and beliefs, I must do the same.
I try to treat all people with dignity and respect and I expect my students to do so.
These are the challenges I accepted when I chose to be a teacher and I remain committed to
them.
