David Basumatary’s Philosophy of Education

I believe education is a unique experience for every student. My purpose as the child’s teacher is

for me to lead them in a way that they realize their worth, are challenged and grow to their full

potential. I strongly believe that every student has the potential to be successful in life.

My goal as a teacher is to educate, motivate, and nurture students to become leaders in the

society. The purpose of education is to prepare the students to face challenges in life and be a

contributing member of the society. I believe in student centered learning where the teacher

guides and motivates the students to achieve success. I let the students brainstorm new ideas and

activities both as corporate and individuals. I always want to bring out the best in all of my

students.

Formative assessment throughout the academic period is inevitable for improving student

understanding and performance.

I believe academic learning begins with motivation and inspiration. As a teacher, I always try to

make learning enjoyable and fun. My goal in teaching is also to make my students independent

learners. I am a role model for the students. I also need to learn new methods and techniques of

teaching. I need to keep myself updated with the latest trends and issues in education and in the

lives of my students. Learning is a lifelong process requiring discipline and effort.

I want students to have freedom that allows for expression and creativity while at the same time

maintaining discipline in the classroom.

In choosing to become a teacher I have made the commitment to myself and my future students

to be the best academic, personal and ethical role model I can be.
