ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT

INTRODUCTION
The selections of mud materials components which environmental and toxic aspects
are diesel oil, low toxic mineral oil and other polymer additives.
Oil with toxic concentration will cause bioaccumulation and biomagnifications to the
environment. Barite and bentonite are non-toxic but will polluted to liquid disposal.
Chromium containts in drilling mud shows in trivalent incline to toxic then to form
hexavalent.
The main parameter to water pollution are Biochemistry oxygen distribution, chemical
oxygen distribution, pH, Transmit electric energy, Sulfate and Mangan concentration
etc.
The following alternatives may be used as guidelines for processing and disposal of
used mud and drill cuttings, as follows :
Prepare and plan of a disposal area in accordance with the type of waste to be
processed and the conditioned of the drilling ocation. In the sensitive locations should
be furnished with special collecting tanks or pits lined with waterproff layers within in
safe distance.

solid waste containing heavy metals above the threshold standards should first be
mixed with coment or resin (solidification) prior to disposal.
Waste of Oil Base Mud
Starts with separation of oil from solids (deoiling), then the oil is incenerated in a
certain place. The free solids may be disposed of (landfill) after TLCP test show
compliant heavy metals content.
If the solid waste contain heavy solids above threshold standard, it should first be
mixed with comment or resin (solidification) prior to disposal.
This similar to the process done on-shore. Based on toxicity test, used mud or solids
may be disposed of when the test indicates a value of 96H LC-50 > 30.000 ppm. In
certain ecological sensitive areas such as coral reefs, grass beds and so on, the
waste must be disposed of in another less sensitive areas.
In view of environmental materials aspect will based upon the hazardous and toxic
characteristics of the materials starting from packaging, movement, transportation,
storage and distribution to mud tanks on location must follow the applicable
procedure and regulations of occupational safety and environment.

INTRODUCTION
PT.WELTES ENERGI NUSANTARA shall minimize the generation of waste in its activities, shall
property utilize less polluting products.
Characterization of each one of the wastes generated and to take waste or toxicity
reduction steps where practical
Control the management of all residuals to sure that final disposal shall not threaten
health and safety of workforce, community or the environment.
Treatment, reuse, recycling and disposal shall be done in accordance with the
requirements of the regulating authorities. PT.WELTES ENERGI NUSANTARA activities
are to be more than minimum requirements are not protective of health and safety of the
workforce, community and the environment.
Materials and supplies that minimize endangerment to human health or the environment
are preferred over more dangerous materials.
PRODUCTION
Mobile equipment, especially heavy machinery should be operated carefully to minimize damage
to the soil, vegetation and riiverbeds in the worksite. Mobile equipment may not be used, moved,
parked or washed in riverbeds, streams, or plades other than the work camp, unless it is strictly
necessary and approved by the supervisor.
Fueling and maintenance of mobile equipment and other machinery, includng washing of vehicles
shall be performed in such away that the soil and water are not polluted and the waste is collected
and treated. The special area for such operations should be had a distance available to the water
sources.
Pump and other equipment used to extract water, when installed on chanel banks, shall be fitted
with pans to stop fluid and lubricant leaks, and the contents of such pans strictly prohibited to
discharge into the water sources under any circumstances.
Used oil and lubricants and waste arising from cleaning and maintenance operation, should be
kept in sealed containers, treated and subsequently disposed of in approved manner.
All employees should be cared with no solid wastes such as cement, lime or fresh concrete are
permanently deposited in water sources.
OFFICES AND LIVING QUARTERS
The standard below should be required to al PT.WELTES ENERGI NUSANTARA offices in on-
shore, living quarters in on-shore and off-shore area its under PT.WELTES ENERGI
NUSANTARA authority or to be carried out under contract of customer area.

other airborne contaminants resulted from the work process, cause damage to health.
All supervisors should ensured that drinking water supply in the work areas in sufficient
quality and quantity for number of workers, and should supplied disposable containers
for consumption of the water.
Sanitary service included showers, wash-hand basins, WC, and urinals for all workers
