Research Objective

The main purpose of this study is to determine the significant influence of

Social-emotional Competence and Academic Motivation of Pre-Service Teachers of

St. Mary’s College of Bansalan Inc. Moreover, it seeks to answer the following

objectives:

1. To determine the level of social-emotional competence of the Pre-service

Teachers in terms of:

1.1 Self-Awareness,

1.2 Self-Management,

1.3 Social Awareness,

1.4 Relationship Management,

1.5 Responsible Decision-Making

2. To ascertain the level of academic motivation of pre-service teachers in terms of:

2.1 Intrinsic Goal Orientation,

2.2 Self-Efficacy,

2.3 Social Engagement,

2.4 Task Value

3. To establish a significant relationship between Social-Emotional Competence and

Academic Motivation of Pre-service Teachers.

4. To determine what domain of social-emotional competence best predicts

academic motivation of pre-service teachers.
