Materials:
I. Motivation/warm up

1. Write the topic on the whiteboard.

2. Speak about professions to introduce the activity

The teacher will present vocabulary about common professions.


Actor /Actress, Architect , Astronomer, Driver, Butcher, Chef, Dentist, Doctor, Electrician,
Engineer, Farmer, Journalist, Lawyer, Lifeguard, Mechanic.

Activity: Who am I?

1. Students pair up

2. Each student takes a card and puts it on their head without seeing the content

3. They will take turns asking questions and trying to guess their profession.

II. I DO/Presentation
1. The teacher shows the vocabulary about adjectives, which are used to
describe people: beautiful, great, excellent, famous, handsome, wonderful,
fantastic, terrific.
2. The teacher make some sentences using the vocabulary about professions
and adjectives.
15 minutes III. WE DO/Practice
Activity: Role play

1. Each participant receives a dialogue card and an occupation card.

2. Role-play the dialogue. Take turns being the employment counsellor and the
client.

4. After a pair has practiced both roles present their dialogues to the whole group.
IV. YOU DO/Production

Make ten sentences describing professions.

V. Homework

Study the vocabulary.
