2. Have you seen some tools and materials in carpentry
3. Have you touched the tools? After you touch were you
able experience to you use the tool.
B. Establishing a purpose for Activity 2: Lesson Proper
the lesson Introduction
(ENGAGE) Today, we will navigate the world of carpentry. You will
learn different materials and tools applicable to a specific
construction job and accomplish requisition forms.

Carpentry is a skilled trade in which the primary work

performed is the cutting, shaping and installation of
building materials during the construction of buildings,
ships, timber bridges, concrete form work, etc. Carpenters
traditionally worked with natural wood and did the rougher
work such as framing, but today many other materials and
tools are also used. Construction work has undergone
major changes. Once dependent upon craftsmanship with
simple mechanical aids
the industry now relies largely on machines and
equipment.
Carpenter-a person who makes and repairs wooden
objects and structures.

PPE used by the carpenters

1. Goggles - used to protect the eyes against flying debris
and harmful
liquids.
2. SAFETY HELMET - used to protect the head from
injury
3. Face Mask - used to prevent the inhalation of sprayed
paint fumes.
4. Gloves - used to protect the hands while working.
5. Body suit- used to protect the worker body against
different debris.

Group Activity:
NAME ME:

The teacher will divide the class into five with ten
members each. The group will choose their leader and the
leader will asign number to each group given by the
teacher..The number is one to ten, what number will the
teacher call will stand in the middle of other members and
he will be the first to answer. The student will guess the
name of the picture tool used in carpentry and write the
correct answer on the illustration board. Only 5 seconds
will be given to write the correct answer.

C. Discussing new concepts Picture Analysis:

and practicing new skills Teacher shows picture of some broken things then
(EXPLORE) student analyze it and tell what tools and materials are
needed in doing the simple repairs.

D. Developing mastery (leads Answer the following questions:

to Formative Assessment) 1. What is the difference between tools and materials
(EXPLAIN) 2. Enumerate the different tools and materials discussed
and give their
function.
3. The teacher will ask the student, what if there are no
tool and materials,
in the a school. house and other establishment, what
happen to the field
of carpentry?
4.What do you think are the most important tools and
materials needed to
perform carpentry works? Explain your answer.
Display different carpentry tools ( prepare a table with
E. ELABORATE tools) Ask the learners to line-up by group. They will be
given a chance to hold the tools, but as they hold it, they
will explain its function.
