Standard communicator/ journalist) to adequately document and critique their roles, functions, and
competencies.

INTRODUCTION Prayer
 The teacher will play an audio-video for a prayer.

Reminders
 The learners will be reminded on classroom rules and safety protocols.

 The teacher will check the students’ attendance and classroom environment.

 Learners will be asked to share what news they have heard or read for the day.

Review
The teacher will ask: “What are the levels of communication?”

Activity: 4 Pics 1 Word Say: Guess the word that the 4 pictures imply.

ANSWER: JOURNALIST

The teacher will ask the students what they know about the word and define the word based
on their understanding.

DEVELOPMENT
The learners will answer the 10 – item activity to test what they know about the topic.

What is it?

Based on the answers from the picture analysis, the learners will make a concept map of the
roles and functions of a journalist.

ODL/F2F– A student will present and his/her work.


MDL – The learners will write their answer in their worksheets.

Discuss the functions of journalist and communicators in the


society.
The teacher will praise the learners who will actively participate during the activity by saying
“very good”, “great work”, “good job” etc.

“GUESS THE TV AD”

The teacher will show a video about advertising,


learners will guess the title of the TV ad by typing their answers in the chat box (for ODL)
and by raising their hands and wait for the teacher to call them (for f2f). After the video, the
teacher will present the following:

ACTIVITY:

As the teacher discusses the career opportunities, the learners will choose one area of
specialization and one career opportunity. They need to do research about their selected
specialization and career opportunity.

Oral recitation: (for ODL & F2F)


Guide question:
 Choose one area of specialization which a communication practitioner can work and
elaborate the scope of their work.
ADDITIONAL ACTIVITY:
What is the importance of knowing the career opportunities where you should go?
How would a journalist know that the career he has chosen fits him/her?
Do you like to become a journalist someday? Why or why not?
