CFA LECTURER PROFILE,

Hua Chia Yee (FCCA, CFA)

Hua is a CFA Charterholder and a Fellow Member of the Chartered Association of

Certified Accountants (FCCA). He is presently the Managing Director of Phoenix
Capital Corporation, a private equity firm specializing in investment banking and asset
management based in Vietnam. Prior to joining Phoenix, he was the General Manager,
Corporate Planning of KBB Resources Berhad, a vermicelli manufacturer listed on the
Main Board of Bursa Malaysia for 5 years. He also has 7 years of experience in
merchant banking specialising in corporate finance with RHB Sakura Merchant Bankers
Berhad. He also consults in mergers and acquisitions for companies in Asia and the
Middle East since 2003.

Prior to taking up the above appointments, Mr. Hua has 7 years of experience in
merchant banking specialising in corporate finance with RHB Sakura Merchant Bankers
Berhad. As a merchant banker, Mr. Hua has provided corporate advisory services and
formulated fund raising proposals.

A summary of major corporate transactions that he has advised on is as follows: -

 Debt and corporate restructuring for the Lion Group involving 6 public listed
companies listed on the Bursa Malaysia
 Acquisition of Sime Bank and restructuring of the enlarged RHB Banking Group.
 Valuation of various technology related companies for a government owned
entity
 Structuring and valuation of Allianz Assurance Berhad
 Business restructuring of Cold Storage (Malaysia) Berhad
 Initial Public Offerings of:-
o KBB Resources Berhad (vermicelli and rice flour manufacturer)
o YSPSAH Holdings Berhad (pharmaceuticals manufacturer)
o Nikko Electronics Bhd (radio-controlled cars manufacturer)
o Hup Seng Industries Berhad (biscuits manufacturer)

Hua was a CFA programme Lecturer in Hong Kong, Vietnam and Malaysia since 2003,
specialising in Financial Statements Analysis, Equities and Portfolio Management. He is

also a Trainer for Permodalan Nasional Berhad for the CFA programme and various
finance related subjects. He is a Facilitator of the CFP programme for KDU
Management Development Centre Sdn Bhd since 2003, specialising in Investment
Planning and Financial Plan Construction.

Hua is one of the preferred CFA lecturers by Vietnamese students. His lecturing skills,
lecture structures and real life examples help students not only pass the exams but also
apply the knowledge and skills at work.

Do Thi Hong Anh (Passed CFA Level III)

Ms Hong Anh graduated from University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City and passed
all 3 levels of CFA on first attempt. She has 4 years of experience in the Banking
industry and especially in Treasury division, she is currently in charge of conducting
foreign exchange transactions, money market products, liquidity management as well as
related interbank transactions She has practical experience in pricing products on
financial markets and working with partners who are credit institutions such as
banks, financial companies combine with a coherent and systematic method she
will help learners understand the subject structure to easily learn the subject and
remember.

Le Hoai An, CFA

Mr An currently works at Banking University of Ho Chi Minh city. At the same time, he
also takes the role of co-founder and CFO at Washup Holdings. He has held CFA
designation since 2015 and also actively involves in CFA Community activities.

He used to work for the largest independent research companies both internationally and
locally, specializing in researching equity investment opportunities in Asia and Vietnam
markets. Given that background, he could have unique insights about how to analyze a
business prospect.

He is the author and translator of leading economics and finance books published in
Vietnam since 2019. In addition to that, he is also a key member for preparing textbooks
in terms of security analysis, financial advisory and professional ethics sponsored by
State Security Committee and VASB. Finally, in the aim to share investment knowledge
for the public, he has built his own website howvietnamchange.com sharing about
investment stories in Vietnam stock market.

 Nguyen Thi Hoang Anh, PhD, CFA, FRM
Dr. Nguyen Thi Hoang Anh is a Lecturer in Finance in the Foreign Trade University.
With more than 15 years of experience, she possesses deep knowledge and hands-on
experience of financial analysis, quantitative analysis techniques, and portfolio
management. She has given business training courses in Financial Management and
Financial Risk Management for both corporations and SMEs.

She holds a Master in International Money and Banking from the University of
Birmingham, and a PhD in Finance from the University of Exeter, UK. She is also a
CFA and FRM charterholder. She has passed all her exams at her first attempt.

Liem Tri Nhat, CFA

Tri Nhat graduated from University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City and completed 3
levels of the CFA exam after the first test with a score of over 90%. He has more than 4
years of experience working in the banking industry and especially in the Treasury
segment.

Currently, He is in charge of the Associate, Fixed income investment of Vinacapital

In addition, he also have experience in money market and capital market products,
liquidity management as well as transactions related to interbank operations.

He has practical experience in valuing financial products such as bonds, stocks and
working with partners who are financial institutions such as banks and other financial
companies.

Pham Tuan Duong, CFA

Mr. Pham Tuan Duong graduated from Haskayne School of Business, University of
Calgary (Canada), majoring in Finance & Accounting after 06 years studying and
working in Canada. Mr. Duong also passed the first two CFA exams in the first attempts.
Returning to Vietnam in 2015, Mr. Duong has gained major position in certain
corporations such as: Investor Relations Team Leader at Petro Vietnam Drilling & Well
Services Corporation; Investment Banking Expert at MB Securities JSC; Investment

Banking Deputy Manager at Yuanta Securities Vietnam. Today, Mr. Duong is holding
the position of Investment Banking Associate Manager at Shinhan Securities Vietnam.
Due to his extensive knowledge & experience in the Investment Banking industry in
Vietnam including the participation in many important deals such as bond private
placement, IPOs, equity private placement, etc., Mr. Duong’s lectures are a combination
of knowledge and practical work experience. That allows students to enjoy his lecture
time, be able to connect CFA knowledge and real life, as well as achieving high results
in the CFA exams.
