Company Overview:
Fire Up Donuts was created in July of 2020 by four CMU alumni. The four owners were stuck at
home during the COVID-19 pandemic when they started baking and selling donuts, creating
Fire Up Donuts. The 12-employee company is devoted to serving the Central Michigan
University and Mt. Pleasant, Mich. community. More information on next page.

• Current Partnership:

o CMU Food Pantry – Fire Up Donuts donates 50 donuts per month

▪ The CMU Student Food Pantry works to alleviate the challenges and
hardships of food insecurity that about 1 in 3 CMU students encounter
during their academic career.

• Past Advertisement Locations on Campus

o Park Library – Includes: Study center, Ponder Coffee Café, Sarah and Daniel
Opperman Auditorium.
o Student Activity Center – The Student Activity Center, or SAC, is the place to get
active and get involved. Whether you'd like to take a dip in our state-of-the-art
aquatic center or burn some energy in our 12,000 square-foot fitness center, the
SAC is where you can move.
o University Center – Includes: Study center, Starbucks, Food Court, Bookstore,
multiple auditoriums.
Project Overview:
Fire Up Donuts is opening our first store location at 1200 S Mission St. Mt. Pleasant MI,
48858 on January 13. We are having a grand opening event on that opening day at our
new location. Our customers are mostly CMU students. We will use our current social
media platforms to continue to promote the business and our new location to our
audience.

Fire Up Donuts is looking for a PR agency to help them raise awareness and generate
sales on CMU campus. Your firm is invited to our PR agency pitch. You are given a set
amount of time to develop a social media plan. At the end of the time, your firm will
present your plan to the client.

• Campaign Requirements:

o Create a social media plan to promote Fire Up Donuts on CMU campus. The
social plan is for Jan. 1 – Jan. 31. You also need to decide the frequency of the
posts per week.

▪ For each post, you just need to provide key words/concepts for the posts.
You do NOT need to create the entire content or caption. Utilize the
material and information you are given and your knowledge and
experience as a CMU student when creating this plan.

o You must include the following in your social media plan; however you are not
limited to these requirements.

▪ Grand opening event on Jan. 13.

▪ 2 to 3 other campus events or activities: you are encouraged to create
some fun events/activities on CMU campus and the surrounding area.
▪ Partnership with the Food Pantry.
▪ Media coverage in local news outlet(s)
• Timeline:

o Dec. 7 – Propose pitch to clients

o Jan. 1 – Start Campaign
o Jan. 9 – CMU Spring 2023 semester begins
o Jan. 13 – Fire Up Donuts! Store Grand Opening
o Jan. 30 – End Campaign

WHO WE ARE
We are a Mount Pleasant business
located in the heart of Central Michigan
University's campus. Our donuts are
freshly made every day and we provide
40 different donut flavors, including our
monthly specialty donut.
OUR COMMUNITY
OUTREACH
Because we owe a lot of our success to
the students at Central Michigan
University, we make sure we give back
to the community by having 50% of our
staff be CMU students. Additionally,
every year we select three students to
be a part of our Fire Up! Giveaway
where we give $1,000 dollars to each
student to pay for books and other
school supplies.
