ZIAA Bakery

Bakery Shop for Students and Staff of Universiti Kuala Lumpur Business School

Abstract

Our bakery shop offers a wide range of intriguing and affordable goods, with pricing as low as
RM 4 for two products. Expensive food expenses on campus are considered as a barrier to an
institution's ability to provide a suitable learning and teaching environment for both students and
staff at Unikl Business School. ZIAA Bakery is a project aimed at addressing and resolving the
aforementioned issue. A poll on "Students comments on building a Bakery Shop at Unikl UBIS
Quill City Mall campus" was conducted, with 30 participants. The highlighted problem was
experienced by a large proportion of responders. The survey's findings back up the strategy that
will be addressed in depth in this report.
1.0 Introduction of the proposal

1.1 Definition of bakery shop

A bakery shop is defined as a business that bakes and sells flour-based baked goods such
as bread, cookies, cakes, pastries, and pies. Some retail bakeries double as cafes, selling coffee
and tea to customers who want to eat their baked goods on the spot. Bakeries can make a variety
of cakes, including sheet cakes, layer cakes, tiered cakes, and wedding cakes.

Other bakeries may specialise in traditional or handcrafted breads created with locally milled
flour and without the use of flour bleaching or treatment agents, referred to as artisan bread. The
goal of this project is to provide Unikl students with a selection of affordable bakery items at
Quill Mall.

Planning to build a bakery store with the best menu and price is very crucial in delivering
delicious and healthy meals for unique workers and students. This is, of course, to provide a
favourable learning and teaching atmosphere for all Unikl personnel and students.
1.2 Introduction

The first issue to be considered is the high cost of food near the Quill City Mall campus.
Unikl personnel and students receive a discounted rate, which is a must-have for students. The
majority of Unikl students set a spending restriction for food. Students cannot afford to consume
pricey meals on a daily basis. They are willing to go hungry until they get home and cook their
own supper, which may result in their being unable to concentrate on the lecturer and affecting
their CGPA on the final exam.

Apart from the pricey food offered, Unikl students do not have enough time to eat before
commencing class because they are scrambling to keep up with the class schedule, especially for
those who have classes early in the morning.

Unikl has relocated from the Yayasan Selangor Building to Quill Mall, which has a larger
selection of cafes than the Yayasan Selangor Building. Unikl students and employees have the
option of purchasing a discounted item from our bakery. There are also other recommendations
to assist Unikl students and staff, such as providing a special discount if they show their Unikl
employee ID and student matric card. Furthermore, our bakery business will be close to campus,
making it easy for Unikl employees and students to get a meal before starting class.

Conclusion

The major purpose of this initiative is to assist students in selecting a range of foods
because Unikl Business School does not have any bakery businesses within walking distance of
the campus. In fact, students can pick from a variety of cakes, croissants, breads, buns, pastries,
muffins, pies, cookies, donuts, and sandwiches. Nonetheless, we give a range of flavours so that
students have a range of choices. Not to mention the pricing, which is reasonable for both
students and instructors.

Another reason we have considered ZIAA Bakery is that we want Unikl students to have
something sweet, light, and satisfying for breakfast. Furthermore, we are all aware of how hectic
students' schedules are as they rush from home to class. We did want to assist them in filling up
their bellies before class begins so that they can be enthusiastic. Some of the pupils may choose
something easier to consume, in which case they can choose from our ZIAA Bakery.
