The name Edufé was strategically formulated to give ideas what the business will
be. Edufé is term derived from the combination of the words education and cafe. The
term itself signifies an educational cafe inside the university which aims the progress of
education through the services we are offering.

Logo Description
The Logo itself suggests what the business is all about. The coffee-brown
background color imbues the ambiance of a coffee shop, the silhouette of a cup
represents the primary product we are offering which is coffee not to mention its
benefits. The strings that connects forming a cup represents the hand-in-hand efforts of
the individuals who made the very effort to make the business possible- the student
organizations, University Administration and CBA Department to be specific. The leaf
represents that the business itself is promoting the green economic development as a
compliance to the corporate social responsibility of the every business. Environmental
safety is our primary concern. While the term Edufé is a combination of the term
education and café, it is noticeable however that the letter U is located in the center of
the word which stands for University, this indicates that University’s welfare is at the
very heart of the business.

We are offering a place that offers not only treats for everyone to enjoy but a
printing site accessible to all. They can grab treats while printing at the same time and
even surfing the internet since Edufé is offering an unlimited wi-fi access for customers.

Edufé, a café-kiosk located at Capiz State University offers unique line of
refreshment. Through the medium of consistent popularity of coffee, combined with
the growing interest in the internet Edufé is born. Edufé is determined to become a
daily necessity for local coffee lovers, a place to dream of as you try to escape the daily
stresses of life especially as a student life and just a comfortable place to meet your
friends or to read a book, print your documents and freely access the internet.
Edufé will be located at the heart of Capiz State University- Main Campus to build a
core group of customers specifically the students, faculties and staffs, and any
individual wishes to take a break with us. Edufé will offer its customers the best
prepared coffee or fresh shakes in the area and having a document-printing service,
that will be complimented with pastries as well as enjoy the free wi-fi service.

Despite the continued fluctuation and instability of the Philippine currency, there
is one thing that remains certain, everyone has to unwind and study in a most relaxing
place. With companies downsizing and people looking to create new identities for
themselves, the idea of opening a school café emerges an enticing option to enjoy the
new form of education that will satisfy the needs of students inside the university.
When students are searching and desire for places to study, he has to say
“Malinong di? Pwede ta di kapa print or katuon?” Edufé is the answer to the exploring
minds and satisfying eyes and stomach of everyone to enjoy food, coffee, shakes,
internet access, and printing services. Edufé serves variety of baked goods and pastries
braced with selection of special coffees, fruit shakes and other specialty drinks.
Customers can access the internet and create a connection around the globe either
social or academic and printing documents and pictures is done conveniently. The ideas
uphold the habitual means of taking pleasure in well-loved students’ basic needs in
studying and an astounding ambiance that everyone can associate with.

The government encourages entrepreneurs to start small businesses that will


help the economy grow. Café Centrum Inc. will be a great contribution to the
positive economic outlook of the Philippines in general and of the province of CApiz
in particular. It will pay taxes, provide employment, buy locally produced goods and
services, and provide investment venue to its local residents.
Edufé is an educational café where students and mentors met for mentorship of
their academic life. Business tycoons can come to tell their stories and inspire
students to do business honestly. Students can spend their study time eating snacks
and at the same time, printing their needed files and documents conveniently.
As the business aims profit optimization, it will not forget the community.
Corporate social investments are highly emphasized. It will be a good training
ground for a café service enthusiast. It will accept undergraduate but easily trained
individuals and help them finish college as they work.
Students will play a big role in the operation of the business. Roughly, eighty
percent (80%) of the management team will come from business students who
want to observe the business as a prototype to reality of the industry. The place will
be a hub of experiential learning in management, accounting and other business
related topics. Aiming to help students to develop their entrepreneurial, technical,
accounting and management skills in business, the café is at the right track to an
educational café. Mentorship can be one point of the business.
Food technology students can be regular suppliers of pastries and baked
products. The café will be a place of new, innovative and delicious delicacies fresh
from their skills and minds. Thus, motivating them to learn more and offer new
enticing products to their fellow students.
In addition, the management team will aim to build trust and good relationship
among its suppliers to ensure quality of products and service. Patronizing Filipino
brands for the growth of the nation. In scaling up, the café will be a hub for all new
and innovative processed pastries of the Food Technology students. Kiosks will be
an option to reach other schools and campuses. With Edufé, your educational café,

Edufé will be the first café inside the university premises. Being the first café
established, the business faces no direct competitors that may fully threaten the
firm. Also it can immerse its market without any other business to take great market
share. This would then contribute to growth and expansion of the business.
In future times, Edufé will be going to build additional kiosks around the campus
other than the main kiosk located at the heart of the university, to further serve its
customer for its up-scale process. Edufé also wishes to expand its services among
all campuses of Capiz State University around the province. Kiosks will be built in
every campus to even scattered the benefits it gives to its customers. With the same
idea of café-kiosks that serves coffee primarily and other delicacies, also an
accessible printing site and a Wi-Fi area which make you connected around the
globe.
This business-venture lends a helping hand not only to its customer but
moreover to its partners. Since most of the crews will be coming from the officers of
the partner-organizations of the Business Department, we are giving students a
training ground to experience the real deal of the business world. Also, this business
would also promote collaborative efforts from the organizations and college
administration which will contribute to the holistic development of both the students
and the college itself.
Another thing is that, the delicacies and pastries we are about to offer will be
supplied by the BIT students. Through a memorandum of agreement, we can
enhance BIT students’ talents and skill in baking and we can add up to their extra-
income.

Edufé is faced with the exciting opportunity of being the first-mover in Capiz State
University. It ventures the first café in the said university and the first university-based
café in the province. It is the not-so-typical café where education and learning are the
primary aims. Edufé will convene both the students and teachers in a common interest
and motive in just one place.

It came up with this idea after a thorough and refined research. The consistent
popularity of coffee, combined with the growing interest in the Internet, has been
proven to be a winning concept in other markets and will produce the same results in
Capiz. Edufé takes this as an opportunity to offer a café where they can buy coffee,
pastries, shakes, etc, print documents and access the internet.

As of today, university students are very focused to their studies in order to pass
their exams or to get high grades as an instrument for good job. They are so stick to
that goal until reached it. Most probably they need some aid or interventions to help
them get this goal. Edufé as an intervention will motivate the students to even improve
their way of studies through giving them accessible, reliable and student-friendly
products and services.

Survey conducted herein the university indicates that coffee stimulates sound study
habit. Students preferably drink coffee while studying since according to them, coffee
makes them more alive and vigorous that leads to good results.
Also printing service was known as one of the primary concerns of the students
since there are a lot of reports and assignments to be printed and pass during the
semester. And going outside to print documents may be time consuming and even
riskier than printing it inside the campus, but sad to say, there is no printing site located
in the campus. So with Edufé, printing will never bother you again as we offer you
printing services.

Edufé bases its prices for coffee, specialty drinks and document printing services
on the "cost plus pricing" which means Café Centrum, Inc. add a percentage to costs as
a profit margin to come up with its final pricing decisions. Though the affordability is
maintained for the students. Rest assured that our prices guarantee the quality of the
services and product.

To promote total customer satisfaction, Edufé itself provides the most flexible
mode of payment. Edufé will be having a membership for those customers who like to
be in the café for a certain span of days or weeks without minding the expenses every
day. They just need to fill up the membership forms and pay for a specific days they
wanted to avail the specific services. Registered members will receive freebies. Also,
Membership is much cheaper than the regular mode of payment which is “pay as you
order” which makes it more preferable. They could also experience no hassle moments
from availing the services.

3.3 Sales Promotion

To promote continual patronage, Edufé provides promos for the customers.


Initially, Edufé has budgeted Php 1,000.00 for promotional efforts which upon the
opening day will give specialized bookmarks as flyers for the first 25 customers to order
in the café and avail free 3-pages document printing.

Edufé otherwise is very aware of how much reading culture could affect the
students, that’s why we are giving them the what we called “CARE Program” which
stands for Comprehended and Appraised Reading Exercise. CARE Program is an
intervention to encourage students to read as a primary source of knowledge.

CARE program is done by featuring a weekly story or novel which the students
are about to read, (they’re the one who will secure their reading materials) then
reading comprehension will be done every Friday by the crews of Edufé. A quiz-type
system will be used to evaluate the readers, for interested to join they can secure the
questionnaires from Edufé amounting to Php 10.00 and will be given 10 minutes to
answer the questions. Test’s types may vary every week as Edufé sees fit. Afterwhich,
answers will be check and scores will be ranked in order of the percentage they got.
Top three scorers will be given freebies as a token for making it to the top. The same
routine will be done weekly.Freebies that awaits are, 3 free pages of printing,
bookmark, a cup of coffee and half-day unlimited wifi access.

Edufé will also have the “Libro para saKapwa”, a book solicitation program. Edufé
will solicit books from students then sell the solicited books in which revenues will be
spent for the chosen beneficiary.

To further attract our customer to buy and avail our services,Edufé uses a stylish
cup that suits all youths and even youths at heart. The ceramic cups which our coffee is
to be served features the trend in most coffee shops. The cups’ designs is only revealed
when heated with hot water. Customers may wish to buy coffee at the same time the
cup witha specific amount.

3.4 Proposed Location/Site (Location)


Edufé is located at the heart of the university. Edufé is in front of the Conference
Room of CAPSU Main Campus, beside the IT Department Building and Administration
Building. It is an accessible place for all students regardless of the colleges they came
from. This place will converge all students and faculty as well, making it the heart of
the university.
