SUBJECT:
How to print a document to a secured print queue and release it without the need to enter a PIN code?

GENERAL:
This Technical Publication is to detail the procedure needed to print a document to a Canon secure print
queue and release it without the need to enter a PIN code on a imageRUNNER ADVANCE device.

DETAILS:
The following procedure may vary depending on the changes taking place in the environment. These steps
will provide a basic guideline for users to configure the Canon secure print queue to print and release a
document without the need to enter a PIN code. This procedure may help providing a single sign-on
solution to a customer who requires Login Authentication Application such as SSO-H or AA-PROX, but
would like to use Canon secure print without the need to use a PIN to release the job.

PROCEDURE:
1. Steps to Configure the imageRUNNER ADVANCE:
a. On the imageRUNNER ADVANCE, change “EZY-
SCRP” under [Service Mode -> Lv1 -> Option ->
User] from 0 to 1
b. Click “OK” and exit Service Mode

2. Steps to Configure the Canon Printer Driver:


a. Select [Printer properties] under [Control
Panel] -> [Devices and Printers].
b. When the [Printer Properties] window is
displayed, click on the [Device Settings] Tab
and then click [Settings].
c. When the [User Information Settings] window
is displayed, click [Default Value Settings].

d. Enter “3758211” in the [PIN for Secured Print]


field,
e. Click “OK” to close the window.
Note: The special PIN code will be set as the default PIN
Code. If you don’t want any confirmation window to be
displayed, you should uncheck any unnecessary
confirmation window checkbox.

3. Step to configure Secure Print as the default output method (optional).


a. Click the [Advanced] Tab] -> [Printing Defaults], change
the [Output Method] from [Print] to [Secured Print].
b. Click “OK” to close the [Printing Defaults] window.
Click “OK” to close the [Printer Properties] window.

4. Printing from Secure Print on imageRUNNER ADVANCE:


a. If the imageRUNNER ADVANCE is configured as
“Device Level Login”:
i. Login to the device.
ii. Click [Secured Print].
b. If the imageRUNNER ADVANCE is configured as
“Function Level Login”:
i. Click [Secured Print]
ii. Login to the device.
c. When you are login, you should see your print job, select
the print job, and click [Secured Print].
d. The secure print job should print without the need to enter
the PIN.
