I. OVERVIEW
A guide to successfully install ImagePilot software on a HP Z400 Server.

II. RESPONSIBILITY
This installation and integration is to be done by a field engineer who has been
trained in ImagePilot.

III. SYNOPSIS
This guide is for installing ImagePilot Touch on a HP Z400 model PC. These in-
structions assume your PC has been preloaded with Ghost image.

V. PROCEDURE
1. Rename computer to proper name, (IP-S-
0XXXX) the XXXX is the software serial
number. This can not be changed once soft-
ware is installed.

Example: Serial number given by email


with the license is 0327. PC name then
should be IP-S-00327

2. Go to [Start][Control Panel][System & Secu-


rity][System].

3. Click on [Change Settings].

4. Select [Change…]. Type the new PC name into “Computer name:”. Then press [OK].

5. A message box indicting “You must restart
this computer for the changes to take effect.”
will pop up. Press [OK].

6. Click [Restart Now] to restart PC.

7. After PC restarts, check the time zone and


the Date/Time. If it is incorrect, then, set it
correct.

8. Go to the [Control panel][Clock, Language,


and Region][Date and Time].

9. Click on [Change date and time…].

10. Make any changes and then click [OK].

11. Next set the network IP address,

12. The default IP address is: 192.168.20.90.

13. Go to [Control Panel][Network and Internet]


[Network Sharing Center].

14. Click on [Local Area Connection].

15. Click on [Properties] and then double click on “Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4).

16. Set it to 192.168.20.90 if you are connecting


to a Regius 110, do not change the IP ad-
dress until you have connected and setup the
reader. After that, the IP can be adjusted to
the sites request. If you are connecting to a
Sigma, then this can be changed to what the
site requests.

17. Click [OK]. Click [OK]. Click [Close].

18. Next, the desktop background needs to be changed to a neutral color.

19. Go to [Control Panel][Appearance and Personalization][Personalization].

20. The window for changing the background
will appear. Click on Desktop Background at
the bottom.

21. Click on drop down from the “Picture Loca-


tion:” and change it to “Solid Colors”.

22. Select the first blue box and then click on


[Save changes].

23. Close any open windows.

24. Need to setup the BIOS for boot order.

25. Restart the PC and then press [F10] key once


while the boot window is active.

26. The BIOS window will be displayed after a


while. Select “English” using the cursor key
and press [Enter].

27. “File menu” will be displayed.

28. Select the “Boot Order” of “Storage” menu
and press [Enter].

29. Select the “Hard Drive” using the cursor key,


press [Enter] to keep selection.

30. Move the “Hard Drive” to the top using the


cursor key. Then press [Enter], followed by
the [F10] key.

31. Select “Save Changes and Exit” from the
“File Menu” and press [Enter].

32. If the following window is shown, press


[F10].

Installing ImagePilot version 1.50R01


IMPORTANT: To avoid failure, the steps 2. ~ 5.
of this section MUST be performed continu-
ously without interruptions.

The operations from 2. ~ 5. could take approxi-


mately 10 minutes.

1. Set the ImagePilot Server Install disk into the


DVD drive. In the “ImagePilot Touch
V1.50R01E folder, double click on
“Setup.exe”.

2. From the “SSSetUp Setup” window, click on


[Install].

3. Click [Yes] to reboot the PC.

At this point, the OS will restart. After re-


starting, the “ImagePilot Setup Wizard” will
automatically start up and you can resume
installation.

4. From the “Welcome to the ImagePilot setup
wizard”, you will need to select the correct
PC and Product type.

Select the model: “Lenovo S10/ HP Z400”.

Select Product type: “ImagePilot Touch for


REGIUS Sigma”.

Select the language: “English”.

Enter the serial number: the same serial num-


ber from the license email. (5 digits!)

Then click on [Next].

5. After all the components are installed, the


log in screen will appear showing version
1.50R01. Click on [Cancel].

6. Double click on the “Service Tool” icon on


the desktop.

7. Enter the service password.

8. Click [Cancel] again.

1. From the Install DVD, open the “Adobe_Server” folder.
Double click on the “Adobe_AI” batch file in that folder.

2. The command prompt will open asking you to “Press any


key to continue...”. Press [Enter] or the [Space] bar.

3. Once it is done installing, find On the desktop the short-


cut for the “operation manual”. If the Adobe license
screen is displayed, click on [Accept] and exit the reader.

4. Then delete only the “Adobe Reader9” icon from the


desktop.

Next, the Image folder needs to be compressed.

Note: Do not power off the ImagePilot Server while the


compression is in progress.

1. Select “Computer” in the “Start” menu.

2. Right click on the “DATA(E:)” partition and select


“Properties.

3. Check on [Compress this drive to save disk space] on the “General” tab.
4. Check off the checkbox for “Compress contents to save disk space” and click [OK].

5. Click on [OK].

6. From the Installation DVD, find the “FontBATCH”


folder and double click on the “InstFont.vbs” script.

7. When the complete window appears, click on [OK].

Installation is now complete.

Supplemental #1: Updating WUPS

1. The latest Windows Updates (WUPS) can now be loaded


to bring the PC up to date with the releases.
2. Make sure to run the correct version, Win7 for ImagePi-
lot Server, or you will get an error. Example:
WUP201104_ImagePilotSV_Win7_IE8EN_FULL.exe

3. Double click on the latest WUP and click on [I Agree] to


start the install.

4. It will automatically install all the updates.

5. When its done, it will ask to reboot.

6. Click [Yes] to restart.

Supplemental #2: Install IDM (remote maintenance)
1. Install R2 next. As of this writing, R2 for Windows 7
was on version 4.41.

2. Please follow the instructions already prepared for that


installer on ImagePilot.

Supplemental #3: Setup Service Tool Options

Setup the Service Tool options as required.

Also, if clients are to be installed, register them in the Server Service Tools before in-
stalling the client software.

Supplemental #4: Install License and Activate the software


Please follow the latest instructions to install the license file for ImagePilot and then Activating on or offline.
