1. Give an example of the application of operations research in agroindustry!

❖ Land Development Scheduling Case

A palm oil company will develop 10 hectares of land. This development involves
many activities such as digging, planting seedlings, felling, watering seedlings, measuring
the distance between seedlings, etc. Some of these activities must be done sequentially
and some can be done simultaneously. Some activities can be completed faster than
necessary by adding more resources (workers, equipment, etc.). By using this Operations
Research principle, it can provide a structured and quantitative approach to determine the
minimum processing time for oil palm development based on normal time and accelerated
time.
