WHO (answers of questions 1-4)

• Filipino advertisements do not only feature famous showbiz male and

female artist but also showcase models with Filipino beauty. In the Maxi-peel

poster we see a fine lady holding a bottle of the product with clear and smooth

skin to encourage their target audiences the woman from teen to adults. Maxi-

peels is said to be endorsed by GMA Entertainment actress and models Maine

Mendoza and Marian Rivera in the year 2018. It is also mentioned before entering

the entertainment industry that they were before models of brands and use these

as experiences as they have been televised and seen through the public with it.

Therefore the model is name and identity is unknown maybe due to privacy

reasons and only to advertise the product. The point of view here focuses on the

products and the beauty of the model as it is said to be the results after using the

product.

ISSUES (answers of questions 1-4)

• The image at first glance, no issues can be seen unless being studied

properly. The part of the picture that had gave an impact on me is the quote

displayed on the picture,” Bagong Ganda, Bagong Pag-asa” in English meaning

“the New Beauty, is the New Hope” almost as close to Rizal’s famous line, “Ang

Kabataan ay ang Pag-asa ng bayan.”(The Youth is the hope of the nation”). It


irritates me as during this generation a lot are suffering of bullying due to normal

problems in their physical image making them insecure and low self-esteem. This

image’s message is to encourage women to be confident with their beauty while

using this product after all their hardships and stress in life that makes them

haggard throughout the day.

INFORMATION (answers of questions 1-6)

• The information given in the image is the name of the product and what it

is used for. The information being left out is the usage of the product and side

effects after use. Maxi-peel is known to exfoliate your skin and reduces pimples

on your face. The inaccuracy of the image is the numbers on the box that can be

indicated different types of products or the usages of the products when to use

and how to use. The side effects not mentioned are the skin peeling, redness and

stinging that can worry the customer if they were scammed or a normal effect of

how the product works as it is advertised you will achieve the look within 30 days

of usage. The sizes of the images are equal between the model and the products

as well as the writings on top but the writings and words on the product are small

it cannot be seen or read properly unless to be physically held on hand.

PERSUASION (answers to questions 1-6)

• I believe this certain media was chosen to be spread to the women who

had problems with their insecurities with showing the product and the beauty of

the model. The information shown can be both factual and manipulated as the
goal was to help the women with their pimple problems but also with their said

quote would persuade them to buy the product as soon as possible to find out

their results. The messages can be affected both positive and negative sides as

they can hurt other women’s perspective to the word “Beauty” and positively

encourage the women’s confidence and esteem to make them stand tall and

proud.

ASSUMPTIONS (answers to questions 1-4)

• The assumptions that can be seen here is that the product may work for

everyone in different skin types within the advertised 30 days. The voices heard

were mostly the women that have tried the product and successfully worked

sharing their story before they bought the product than the voices of the women

who have suffered with the side effects with unproper usage due to the lack of

information advertised. Majority of the experiences and point of view assumed

that the Maxi-peel is the greatest product to achieve the clear and smooth skin

that will last long.
