BRIGADA ESKWELA ACCOMPLISHMENT REPORT

S.Y. 2022-2023
Kicking off on August 1, 2022, the Department of Education (DEPED) Brigada Eskwela (BE)
AND Oplan Balik Eskwela initiative were setting the school-based launching to assist teachers
and stakeholders in their respective preparation for School Opening and were implemented under
the joint theme” Tugon sa Hamon ng Ligtas na Balik-Aral”. which ran on August 1 to September
30, 2022. The Brigada Eskwela is the National Maintenance Week that aims to bring together all
educational stakeholders to participate and contribute their time effort and resources to prepare
public schools facilities for the opening of the school year.
There are benefit that comes with Brigada Eskwela, it saves resources on the part of the school, it
builds oneness and cooperation to all stakeholders were their camaraderie among them develops,
the learner of the students is ensured, the cleanliness of the facilities becomes pleasing and the
environment is safe for the learners.
This year, Brigada Eskwela is very much difficult compared to the Brigada for the past years.
This is because of Corona Virus Disease-19 (COVID-19). This virus infected the whole world
and sadly our country is greatly affected by this pandemic. It is potentially severe respiratory
illness caused by a corona virus and characterized by fever, coughing, and shortness of breath.
Teachers were advised and equally divided to report to school to perform their duties and
responsibilities. We had the enrolment propers, and contact our partner barangays and cleaned
our areas.
Thankfully through the generosity and support of the education partners of barangay officials,
parents and those in the community in one way or another, schools have hurdled past the
challenges and difficulties of adapting the new normal mode of education.
One of the new components of this year’s Brigada Eskwela is Brigada sa Pagbasa, an after-
school reading program that envisions bringing together education partners and experts to help
all learners read at home and functionally literate.
Nothing can stop the Act of Bayanihan even we are facing pandemic!
