BACKGROUND
AND Minabang Elementary School started 1963 as primary school and
RATIONALE
later on turned into Complete Elementary.

Covid19 Pandemic strikes the whole world and many individual


was affected of this situation.Specially the school aged children who
can not go to school and study together with their teacher adviser.As
this case occurs many of the school aged children specially
kindergarten to grade III their level of reading skills and
comprehension becomes more vulnerable.

Minabang Elementary School wants to cater the basic education


need of pupils specially those who can not read and comprehend
amidst this COVID19 Pandemic as the Department of Educations
quotes that no one should be left behind.

To augment this special needs of school aged children


kindergarten to Grade III, Minabang Elementary school conducted
project LAMPARA: “Ligtas at Masayang Pagpapabasa paRa sa mga
bata sa panahon ng Pandemya”

This Innovation aims to help school aged children from


kindergarten to Grade III to master their reading skills and
comprehension to become globally competitive.

A. SATURDAY & SUNDAY SESSIONS

Volunteers schedule their reading session together with the


beneficiaries of the Project:LAMPARA
During their session volunteers teaches their beneficiaries with the
use of MARUNGKO approach and some other reading materials
suitable in every needs of their beneficiaries.
This activity is activity will help the beneficiaries of the project to
reach their highest potential in their reading.
B. KUMUSTAHAN SESSION
Pagbasa Coordinator will monitor the volunteers progress every
month through online,text messeges or phone calls.

C. Marungko Approach in Reading


To be able to identify and recognize phonological sounds is one of
the greatest key for an school aged children can be able to master
reading.
 
D. PUROK LEARNING NOOKS

Purok learning nooks organized by volunteers per purok helps


every beneficiaries engaged actively in their reading activities.In the
purok learning nooks every volunteers ensures the safety of every
beneficiaries as they abide in the AITF protocols.During their session
in the learning nooks volunteers teach every individual how to read
according to their level of capacity in reading.Volunteers organized a
reading session every Saturday morning and afternoon as this is their
only free time to do so because of their other engagement during
weekdays.

OBJECTIVES It specifically aims to:

a. Identify letters and phonological sounds


b. Read words,phrases,sentences and stories
c. Enhance comprehension in reading
d. To be able to be globally competitive.
