SAP HCM

SAP HCM (SAP Human Capital Management) is a human resources management system. It contains all
functions that are relevant for personnel administration, payroll, applicant management, and personnel
development. In addition, SAP HCM links personnel management and personnel management with multi-level
application and approval processes.
The system is closely linked to the organizational structure, whereby hierarchy-dependent processes can be
automated. Adaptation to company-specific conditions is possible by integrating numerous submodules.

There are various sub models in SAP HCM for different processes.
 Organizational Management
 Personnel Administration
 Recruitment
 Time Management
 Payroll
 ESS and MSS
 Reporting

1. Organizational Management: This process defines an organized way to make different people work under
a common platform towards achieving a pre-defined goal. It ensures a smart management of time and
resources in the workstation.

Enterprise structure: Enterprise structure shows the relation between 2 organizational units created

2. Personnel Administration: This process defines the process through which the human resource of an
organization is managed. From the stage of recruiting through compensation, benefits, new employee
orientation, performance-appraisal and more, everything can be recorded and tracked through this process.

The SAP HCM – PA implementation is divided into five steps:

1. Configuration of Company code- taken care by FICO consultant from the HR perspective they just look
out for the Assignment with the Personal Area.
2. Configuration of Enterprise structure
3. Configuration of personnel action or Configuration of PA40
4. Configuration of PA30 Transaction or Configuration of HR master data
5. Configuration of Pay scale structure

Creating Info types

For creating an info type, the following steps generally followed:


Step 1 − Use T-code: PA30
Step 2 – Enter the personnel number
Step 3 − Enter the Info type that we wish to select for a new record and create it. In the Period section,
select the start and the end date
Step 4 − Select Personnel action and once all the details are updated, save the records

3. E-Recruitment: This process is an automated web-based recruiting process that assists HR


professionals in hiring appropriate talent. It opens innovative ways of recruitment processes in an
organization.
4. Time Management: This process assists one in the processes of planning, recording and valuation of
employee’s performance for a certain period. The impact of employee’s presence and absence in the
organization is evaluated in this process. Also, attendance management, calculation of wages, log-in
and log-out report etc., are included in this process.

Time Evaluation

Time evaluation is used to record the attendance of an employee and to record his absence
from work. Time recording is required to process the payroll. Time evaluation is run for
specific employees and all the employees are not required to process time evaluation.
− To run time evaluation, use T-code: PT60
− HR Time: Time Evaluation, Enter details like Personnel Number, Evaluation Schema
and Evaluation up to
− Time will be evaluated and log will be displayed

5. Payroll: This process as the term defines is all about the pay-scale and compensations given away to
employees. From salary to overtime pay, comp-off pay and compensation program, everything is
calculated in this process.

In Schlumberger the payroll is mostly processed in two different programs

Ingestion
 In Ingestion we load the CSV file using the TCODE ZHUM_NIS_DATA_INGEST

 The T code” PC00_MX_CALC”is used to get into the payroll driver (Where X represent the country
grouping)

 Once the payroll driver is completed, we proceed with posting of the documents
Use the T code” PC00_M99_CIPE01” for posting

 In PCP0, the document created is changed from “Created” to “Released” and then finally we proceed
with posting of the documents created.

 To load the entries into the system we use the TCODE “ZHUM_PAYROLL_RESULTS”

 Go to the TCODE “ZHUM_FI_POSTING_APP” for approval


 Go to the TCode “ZHUM_FI_POSTING_POST” to post the documents created
 In PCP0, the document created is changed from “Created” to “Released” and then finally we proceed
with posting of the documents created.

6. ESS and MSS: Employee Self-Service helps employees to individually track various data of their tenure
in an organization. On the other hand, Management Self-Service is a vital process for the managers to
create and maintain the data of employees.

7. Reporting: Finally, reporting allows HR team to deliver comprehensive and up to date information of


all its employees. The reporting tool also enables one to track the hierarchal structure followed in an
organization.
