TOPIC : TEACHING INTERNSHIP

PRE - TEST:
Essay: Briefly answer the following essential questions.

1. Why is Teaching Internship important?

Teaching internships are crucial to an intern's success as a professional teacher
because they provide opportunities for the intern to put what they've learned into
practice in real classroom settings and because they let you interact with experts in
the field, which will expand your knowledge of teaching. Also, a teaching internship
enables a student to assess his or her students' abilities and gain suggestions about
how to manage the classroom on their own.

2. What are the important phases of internship?

There are four important phases of internship:
1. Orientation Sessions - wherein the rules and regulations, facilities
and resources, school forms, school personnel and other matters
related to school operations of the cooperating school will be
introduce to the interns by the Practicum Supervisor or STAss
Coordinator, Cooperating Teacher, and/or Principal.
2. Observation and Building Relationships - wherein cooperating
teachers and the students are in this phase for the reason that an
intern needs to observe how students and teacher interact to each
other and establish relationship with the cooperating teacher as
well as to the students and other school staffs.
3. On Site Tasks - in this phase, the practice teacher will act as a
teacher in which she or he is the one who will write or create the
lesson plans or daily lesson logs, preparing instructional materials
for classroom instruction, preparing assessment tools, tests,
examinations and helping cooperating teachers in their classes and
other things the a teacher do.
4. Final Demonstration and Accomplishing Exit Forms - the last
phase of a practice teacher will encounter, wherein she or he will be
doing her or his final demo relating to her or his major, after that,
she or he will comply and accomplish all the requirements to
proceed to graduation.
3 . Why are laws and regulations important in the exercise of the teaching
profession?
Every profession requires rules and regulations, which are always present. It
gives us prospective teachers a framework to work within as we exercise our rights
in regard to kids, parents, teaching staff, and other staff members. In order to
prevent teachers from abusing our influence both within and outside of the
classroom, these legal foundations also support the limitations of our profession.

ACTIVITY 1: COMPLETE THE STRUCTURED FRAME

I need to undergo teaching internship because it will give me an

opportunity to experience the art of teaching before getting into the real world of
teaching profession wherein it will give me an idea on how to handle various abilities
of students, write lesson plan and lesson log, create learning assessments, and how
to creatively manage the classroom.

Activity 2: Among the 4 phases of internship, which do you think is difficult?

Why?
Among the four phases of internship, I think the most difficult or shall I say the
challenging phase is the third one which is the On Cite Task. In this phase, patience ,
creativity, self-discipline, and time management of a practice teacher will be test.
However, it is not about how smart a practice teacher is but how discipline she or he
has to herself or himself to do the everyday task she or he has. Also, the knowledge
and wisdom she or he has to every lesson she or he will discuss in the class.

Activity 4: Write your insights on the following laws in the teaching profession on

SELF-EVALUATION: In 2-3 sentences, answer the following essay questions:

Because of the pandemic, practice teachers are not allowed to get exposed to the
cooperating schools for their internship. With this situation, how can you make the
best of this PT course to make yourself prepared/ready for the future teaching job?

The pandemic won't stop you from pursuing your goals in life, especially if
they involve your passion. Being adaptable and appropriate, engaging in whole-
student teaching and inclusive teaching, and taking into account the interplay
between synchronous and asynchronous meetings and work will all help me to be
an effective practice teacher even during pandemics.
Is Phase 4 feasible? In what way? Give your suggestion.
Phase 4 may be possible, depending on the situation and how the practice teacher
handles it. The practice teacher must complete, write, and construct all the paper
work, including the lesson plan and lesson log, instructional materials, and
evaluation tools, ahead of time in order to make the word practical. Also, it's
imperative to be accountable and avoid procrastinating.

Why should teachers take heed of the existing laws governing them?
In order to conduct themselves in a righteous and ethical manner in both their
profession and the community, teachers must pay attention to the laws that
currently regulate them. Also, it's to let them know that the rules are there to
protect them as teachers and provide them more power, not only to put restrictions
on them.
