Emergi-Fire Sensa with Alarmsense

The Emergi-Fire Sensa control panel operating

with Apollo Alarmsense devices is an advanced
and cost-effective 2-wire fire system for small to
medium-sized buildings. System flexibility
enables use in applications such as ‘dwellings
and in houses of multiple occupation’ (HMO)
and distributed buildings using a proven and
extensive networking capability.
In summary this is a flexible, reliable and cost
effective fire detection system that is easy to install
and extend.

Eurofire Sensa panels

Eurofire Sensa panels are designed to comply with the
European Standard EN54 Parts 2 and 4 and are
suitable for BS 5839-1:2002 and BS 5839-6:2004
installations.
Panels are available in 4, 8, 12 or 16 zones of fire
detection cover, with powerful and flexible setup,
control and display capabilities.

AlarmSense devices
AlarmSense devices (detectors, manual call points,
sounders, sounder beacons and alarm relays) are
designed to operate normally on the same pair of
zone wires from the panel. A key feature is that alarm
sounders can be programmed to operate as so-called
‘priority’ or ‘non-priority’ devices.

The principle of priority and

non-priority response
In a Sensa system, the nominal operating voltage is
12 volts, which enables AlarmSense detectors and (i.e. heat or fumes from cooking). After 2 minutes, if

Soft select:
Non-latching or latching zones:
The non-latching zone feature
allows a better integrity
connection to existing systems

lockout and allows panels to be
reset more readily (the panel

spare zone and auxiliary contacts
with a volt-free pair). Short circuit

Output wiring:
2-wire configuration to the zones,
giving reduced wiring cost.
Outputs:

programmable for continuous,
pulsing or delayed operation.
Fault volt-free relay contacts.
Sounder delay activation:
Eurofire includes a sounder ‘delay-

programme chosen sounders or
beacons to activate at a later
moment. This is suited to
applications where it is beneficial
not to have undue panic, such as
in bars or Soft Play centres.

Panel Display
The Eurofire Sensa panel includes an easy to reference display with LCD screen allowing for up to four lines of text,
with text programmable for each zone. 6 buttons are included on the front of the panel which can be used to access
the following functions:
● Lamp test, silence alarms, silence buzzer
● User zone, sounder and 2-wire sounder isolation
● Walk and alarm test facility with mute option
● 99-event history log that stores any events with
time and date stamp, for the user to scroll
● Configurable system message for the user with
normal time and date displayed
The panel also features indicator LEDs which advise
the current state of the fire detection system, and give
a clear signal of fire or fault in any particular zone.
Further functionality includes the facility to review
event logs, to override any pre-set alarm delays, and
to enable sounding the evacuation to all zones.

Indicator details
The panel includes indicators for information, fault, fire and ‘fire & fault’, whereby specific panel LEDs will illuminate
or flash to establish the zone affected.

Networking capability
Fire detection coverage in a larger building complex can be achieved by linking Eurofire EN54 panels and repeaters
together via a ‘CAN Connect’ link. (‘CAN Connect’ is a readily available communications protocol.) It is also possible
to make more power available for sounder circuits (additional 4), or save on field wiring:

AlarmSense devices

AlarmSense devices (detectors, manual call points, sounders, sounder beacons and alarm relays) are
designed to operate normally on the same pair of zone wires from the panel. A key feature is that
alarm sounders can be programmed to operate as so-called ‘priority’ or ‘non-priority’ devices.
A ‘priority’ set device reacts as a normal sounder in
standard use and sounds a full alarm. A ‘non-priority’
set device will give an initial local alert prior to going
into full alarm.
‘Non-priority’ devices are intended for use in HMO type
applications where there are a number of individual
dwellings. The operating method is intended to help
reduce the instances of unwanted alarms and give a
local warning before the full alarm/evacuation.
When a heat detector is attached on a sounder or
sounder beacon base, we recommend that the sounder
be set as a ‘priority’ device.
For more information about priority/non-priority
devices, please refer to pages 36 – 37.

Application
Owing the level of sound these devices can produce; they are effective for
46 local use. For example, in situations where there is a corridor with a
number of adjoining rooms, closed doors can reduce the sound level
somewhat. Consequently, it is recommended that this type of sounder
should be placed in both the room and the corridor.

Panel Display
The Eurofire panel includes an easy to reference display with LCD screen allowing for up to four lines of text, with
text programmable for each zone. 6 buttons are included on the front of the panel which can be used to access the
following functions:
● Lamp test, silence alarms, silence buzzer
● User zone and sounder isolation

Emergi-Lite Orbis detectors

Emergi-Lite Orbis brings the latest in fire detector microprocessor technology to the Firetec and Eurofire
systems. Non-addressable (conventional) smoke and heat sensors respond to fire situations within a
given zone, sending a signal to the fire panel, which will indicate a fire condition and sound the alarm.
Orbis provides valuable core features, with high reliability, a marked reduction in unwanted false alarms,
complemented by operational and maintenance enhancements.

Features:
● StartUp: Correct installation – a flashing red LED
● Continuity link: Zone wiring can be voltage
tested before commissioning
● Wide-angle optics: Responsive to fires with black
or white smoke
● Drift Compensation: Calibrated sensitivity levels
are maintained despite contamination
● DustDefy: Dust ingress prevented while airflow is
unimpeded
● Transient Rejection: Abnormal readings are
filtered out to reduce false alarms
● DirtAlert: A flashing yellow LED will indicate
when the drift compensation limit has been
reached
● SensAlert: A flashing yellow LED indicates
incorrect sensor operation
● Fast Test: A 4 second test confirms correct detector operation
● E-Z Fit slots: Remove and refit the base without dismounting the fixing screws
