WALL WASH TEST = PERMANGANATE TIME TEST ANALYSIS

Sample Marked: The sample was obtain from wall of solar tank 04-FT-01, PT.
BumiSuksesindo

Objective of Test:
Detecting the presence of hydrocarbon on the wall after cleaning that reduce
potassium permanganate less than 30 minutes.

Step of work:
1. Prepare wall wash test sample from solar tank
3 sample is prepared to perform wall wash test based on rotation degree
from manhole inside tank

2. Prepare potassium permanganate (KMnO4) solution 200 ppm

3. Dissolve 0.02 g of KMnO4 solid in distilled water in beaker glass
4. Pour the solution into volumetric flask of 100 ml and fill up with water to
the mark
5. Prepare 4measuring cylinder 50 ml and clean using distilled water
6. Fill the first cylinder with water, second cylinder with sample 1, third cylinder
with sample 2, and fourth cylinder with sample 3
7. Add 2 ml of KMnO4 solution to each cylinder, tag the first cylinder as
standard solution

8. Mix the solution until homogenous

9. Record initial time
10. Keep the solution and check continuously
11. Record the time when the purple color fades to yellow pale (orange)

Observation result:
The observation is carried out for 45 minutes
Sample information (form left to right):
1. Standard solution (water and KMnO4)
2. Testing solution 1 (sample 1 and KMnO4)
3. Testing solution 2 (sample 2 and KMnO4)
4. Testing solution 3 (sample 3 and KMnO4)

Conclusion:
From the above result, the color of sample was changed from purple to yellow pale
after 45 minutes. Mean that pass wall wash test PTT > 30 minutes and free hydro

Objective of Test:
