Types of letters

There are two types of letters that we write-

1. Informal
2. Formal

Informal letters are the ones that we write to our friends and relatives.
They are informal because we are communicating with people whom we know
very well. The style of writing is free, casual and conversational, as if we are
speaking to them and they were sitting right in front of us. The informal
letters can be very long.

Dear Kush,

Hope this letter of mine finds you in the best of your health and happiness. I am writing
this letter to let you know that I really miss the holidays we all spent together. The
weather in Dehradun was so pleasant, unlike Lucknow. We often talk about our evening
walks, the family gatherings and all the fun time spent.

We didn’t even realise how the days passed and my autumn break came to end. We all miss
you, aunt and uncle. Convey my best regards to them. Looking forward to see you all in
December.
