    Lesson Plan 2 of 2: Nonstructured Observation

    Four students (L, A, S, P)

    -Following prompt from teacher, P reached for the object of interest

    -P touched ribbons, did not grasp

    -Was asked “Do you feel the ribbons? Are they smooth?”- P made eye contact and

    touched again

    -Was supported in grasping ribbon with hand-over-hand support, then pulled it independently.

    -While on stomach, A grabbed ribbon, and pulled towards herself.

    -A knocked over object, began to cry

    -S grabbed a ribbon and pulled it. The ribbon made noise, and he pulled again.

    -Was asked, “Did the ribbon make a sound when you pulled it?”

    -Had ribbons one in each hand and pulled both.

    -Was responded to with “Wow, you can pull a ribbon in both hands!”

    -Was asked, “Would you like to pull on the ribbons with us?”

    Made eye contact upon being asked

    -Reached for object, did not grab.


    Was prompted, “can you grab the ribbon? I bet you can, can you show me?”
