Home Learning :

# Phonics Review the new sounds: y,n,w,v,z,k,j,e through some fun activities # Maths inquiry Write numbers on the number strips, cut them and order them from 1-10. # Unit of Inquiry Find living things around your home, draw or paste pictures and write their names. # Mystery Bag! One per day. # Poem/song book Units of inquiry
Please remember that the Poem/song book comes back to school every Monday and is returned on a Monday also (sometimes containing a new poem/song)

To note/reminders:

Please help your child read snuggle up books everyday and return it on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. CISWASC visit the school all week. IB PYP authorities visit the school all week.

What we are learning in 1JK:

-Phonics sounds ( r f l u I d b h s m c p t g a o) and new sounds- v w y z j n k e -Maths number We are learning to create patterns and find patterns in our environment. We will also start grouping objects according to their attributes. -Writing using our sounds to spell, using a full stop at the end of a sentence and capital letter at the beginning. Using spaces between words. Units of Inquiry: Friendship (year long): We will continue to learn to be effective communicators at school. Living Things (current): We are learning the characteristics of living and non-living things. We will start investigating into living things in Hong Kong.
