QUESTIONS

Planning

1. How will you captivate the customers?

“We can reach the customers by using the common advertising means like the
billboards, messages, online advertisement banners, etc. but as there is a lot of
competition in the business market there is a need to attract the audience with a
unique way of presenting your product something new and efficient like if there is
a clothing production company to attract the customers we have to produce unique
commercials ads or by hiring celebrities for promotions and give the buyers a
reason to choose our brand”

2. How will you compete with the other production brands in the market?

“The textile industry has a huge scope in the world as it offers different fields that
means there will be a great competition for the newbie businessmen for building
up the empire to a prominent known brand. For this, we use the tactics to compete
with the runner ups
The first thing we do:
The quality of our product and then advertising like promoting our brands as
much as possible so that our brand will always have a highlighted name and other
options such as social media advertising and sending PRs plays an important role
in the development of the brand. Firstly, we have set the standard of our brand
which can be elevated more.”
Staffing/recruitment and hiring

1. What are your requirements to recruit an employee?

“Punctuality and commitment are the most important requirements for a job. We prefer
candidates with a job background over a business background. So that the person is used to the
job’s routine and is punctual enough. We check his previous job records to see how long had he
been committed to his last job.”

2. Do top candidates decline your job offers?

“Yes, sometimes”
On asking the reason why:
“There are various reasons, maybe they were expecting more salary than we were offering if it’s
because of salary so we try to increase our salary offering. But if still he/she declines the job
then we consider other candidates who may be suitable for the job.”

Training and Development:

1. How will you deal with the employees when the company imports some
new machinery, they are not familiar with?
“When new machinery is installed our “Industrial Engineer” team (IE) trains employees for 3 to
4 days on how to use the machinery efficiently.
After getting proper training they are well aware of the new features and how to operate them.”

2. What measures you will take to improve employee development in your

company?
“We’ll focus on their personal development (emotional balance, intellectual growth),
emphasizing soft skills (includes communication skills), or will try to enhance cross
developments and pieces of training, and by offering professional training.”

Evaluating/appraisal performance

1. What do you do if an employee seems not interested in work or if they

aren’t working properly as they were asked?
“We warn him/her not more than 3 times, if still there is no improvement noticed in his/her
work or attitude than we simply have to fire them”

2. How do evaluate your employee’s performance?

“Employee’s performance is evaluated based on their attitude towards their work and above all
their annual review”
On asking what an annual review was he answered:
“Annual reviews are summaries of the amount and quality of the work done by each employee,
and it is very important as bonuses and promotions are to be given based on their annual
reviews”

Managing relationships

1. How do you manage conflicts between your team members?

“First of all, I calmly listen to both sides of the stories, discuss it with someone who will advise
unbiasedly, then I take any action accordingly.”
he added that it was not always like this, he too made some mistakes in the past managing
conflicts.
“Once a girl came to me complaining about a guy who she said was harassing her, I got so
furious and reprimanded him without even inquiring, afterward i came to know that he was only
asking her to work properly”
2. What is your behavior towards your employees?
“I am quite strict with my employees”
On asking the reason he replied:
“If I am not strict my employees will start making excuses and there are thousands of
employees working in the company, and if I start listening to their excuses, so I would have to
listen to them all day long and no work would be done, which we cannot afford.”

Motivating/rewarding

1. Do you keep your employees motivated? How?

“As general manager, I assemble all employees, supervisors, and managers and deliver a brief
motivational speech to them.”
He further added,
“Our company has a rule that we mostly don’t hire candidates for top positions like managers
and supervisors. Instead, we promote our people to higher positions. And because that
promotion is based on their annual performance, it automatically encourages them to work
hard.”
