The document discusses factors that determine positive perceptions of retirement and reactions to changing roles after retirement. It identifies five key factors: 1) health status, 2) income, 3) work status, 4) family structure, and 5) preparation for the future. Good health, sufficient income, having worked previously, close family ties, and self-preparation are linked to more positive views of retirement and better adaptation to new roles after retiring. The document also discusses implications for nursing, including the importance of fulfilling emotional needs and being a role model to help patients cope with changes.
