Module 1 Science Journal

Lesson 1 Practice 1 – Scientific Method Concept Map

Copy and paste the image of your concept map (you will export as a
.png and then copy and paste the image that opens). Make sure you
have used all 8 terms before copying and pasting!
Write 1-2 sentences about the method you used to create the
concept map. For example, how did you decide which phrases would
be the “main branches”?

The method I used was a flow chart because for me it makes the
most sense for the scientific method. Also, I added Qualitative
Quantitative underneath making an observation because I would
think that you would figure out which one it is in the experiment
when you make observations.

Lesson 2 Practice – Review

In the Guided Notes, section 4 “Review”, you will complete a
matching activity (see image below). Complete the activity until you
get everyone correct. Include a screenshot showing that you got
everyone correct.

Lesson 3 Practice 1 – States of Matter at VisionLearning.com

Paste a screenshot (go to http://take-a-screenshot.org/ if you do not
know how to complete a screenshot) of your quiz results below:

Write 1-2 sentences summarizing what you learned from this

interactive.

I learned many new things from this reading about the states of
matter and how they are different. I also learned new information
and how they were studied and examined.

Lesson 4 Practice 1 – Khan Video Phase Diagrams

After checking your answers to the student guide, rewrite each
correct answer as a complete sentence below.
1. Ice starts melting at a lower temperature.
2. Ice will freeze at a higher temperature.
3. 100 degrees C
4. Boiling point will decrease
5. Sublimation
6. The state of matter above the Critical Point.

Write a brief reflection about the information in the video below (for
example, what were some of the most important ideas?)
a typical phase diagram has pressure on the y-axis and temperature on the
x-axis. As we cross the lines or curves on the phase diagram, a phase change
occurs

Lesson 4 Practice 2 – Phase Diagram Interactive

Paste a screenshot of your completed phase diagram below.
You will submit this Science Journal as a grade in the course. Save the
document as Module 1 Science Journal_YOUR NAME and then submit the file
using the submission link in your Moodle course (found in the same location you
opened this file). Please let me know if you have any questions.
