Here is a list of all the ​topics​ covered this unit. I suggest that you make a copy of this document, put
it in your unit 1 folder, and repeatedly come back to it and self-assess the topics you know. Check
out the addition of the new column linking Khan Academy practice to the listed standards.

This will be a one-stop-shopping for all the material covered this unit.

Homework will be posted the day it is assigned. Unless otherwise stated with a due date, it will be
expected that you have it completed by the next class.

Thursday, Checklist of things to do this class: 


March 12
1. Submit​ game, all pieces, and instructions (and make sure game reflection
has been submitted. ​But not working on it.​ If you’re not done, put it to
the side and first complete (and share) the math portion of your SLC
slideshow.

2. Create and/or add the math component to SLC slideshow.


❏ You need to include ​at least two pieces​ of work: one item
demonstrating something you’re ​proud of​ and one example of a
skill or area you need to ​improve on​.
❏ Write 3 paragraphs: an introduction and an explanation of why you
chose that piece and what they demonstrate.
❏ Things to discuss about the class
❏ What have you enjoyed most in this class?
❏ What have you done that has made you successful and
productive?
❏ What could you have done better?
❏ What do you look forward to?
❏ What connections can you make to other classes?
❏ What Approaches to Learning have helped me do my best
learning? What ATLs have I focused on in this class that
have been helpful? What may I need to continue to work on?
❏ Do make "I statements" ...for instance:

❏ I become more successful by...
❏ I still need to improve...
❏ For the ​proud​ item talk about why you are proud and explain about
the amount of time and energy and dedication that the assignment

how you have improved and when you show work with mistakes -
show that you know those answers now or that in later work the
errors are improving.
❏ Share your reflection with me either emailing me screen shots of the
math slides, sharing your whole slideshow, or by sharing your script.

3. Do the test corrections from the last test. This is due ​Friday, March 20​.

4. There are more relevant exercises on Khan Academy. Practice, practice,


practice until simplifying expressions becomes second nature.

assigned. Be sure to do the practice at the
